Those Whacky Germans!
Is kneeling in silent reverence too much to ask for?

I tell ya... I love 'The Spirit of Vatican II'. Hula Masses, Liturgical Dancers, the 'shrine to saint judas', etc, etc, ad nauseum.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any more bizzare, along comes the most disturbing thing to come out of Germany since Zyklon B and David Hasslehoff-mania.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Damen und Herren, I give to you... Cosmic Body Prayer.

I'm not going to post pictures nor am I going to even attempt to describe it. Yes, it's that weird. But here's what you do; first, copy this address:

Now go to this site and paste the address where you see "Translate a Web page" (it's towards the bottom of the page). Make sure you choose "German to English". The translation is kind of funky, but I'm sure you'll be able to make out the "Our Father".

Be prepared to be... aww hell, I don't know what to say. I'm still stunned!

Yeah. On my Weird Stuff 'O Meter, that definitely ranks a 9.5.

The guy looked like he was auditioning for The Matrix or Power Rangers, not engaged in prayerful worship of our Lord.

I've heard tell that God has a sense of humor, but I think even he draws the line at funky German monk dancing.

You're right, again. That is friggin' weird and definitely in keeping with the "spirir" of Vatican II.

Now I know where the ICEL gets their translations.

The last part is good:
"Hats you to place this kind of prayer into the own will or to attack someone thereby religiously. The reactions can be substantial."

The reactions can be substantial. Indeed.

Yes. Substantial laughter, in my case. I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

oh my Lord. I am sure substantial laughter will eventually follow when I pick my jaw off the floor.

Whoever came up with this nonsense needs to be smacked (and I don't mean kissed). More like a dope-slap.

I definitely agree with Tom. I am really not into violence but a good smack is what he could use. Maybe we don't have to worry about it, with all that jumping around maybe he will knock some sense into himself
