And Thank God For Michelle Maklin, As Well
Photo not from her website ;-)

Here's just a bit of the article from her site; (No emphasis on my part needed!)
The Pfleger-ization of the Catholic Church
by Michelle Malkin

So much that you need to know about the Catholic Church's social policy problems can be summed up in one word: Chicago. On race, abortion, guns, immigration and "community organizing," Catholic Church officials in the Windy City have forged unholy alliances with radical left-wingers and enablers who undermine the faith -- and the faithful.

Exhibit A: the Archdiocese of Chicago's Office for Racial Justice and one of its most notorious priests, the Rev. Michael Pfleger. This week, Chicago Cardinal Francis George -- who also happens to be president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops -- presided over a gala ceremony honoring Pfleger with a "lifetime achievement award" for his "service in pursuit of dismantling racism, injustice and inequalities on behalf of African Americans and all people of color."

How, pray tell, has Pfleger achieved the officially sanctioned Catholic vision of "racial justice"? By aligning himself with the nation's worst racial demagogues and using his pulpit at the St. Sabina Catholic Church on Chicago's Southside to promote poisonous identity politics.

Pfleger (who is white) grabbed the spotlight during the 2008 presidential campaign with jive-talking defenses of his fellow race-hustler and President Obama's spiritual mentor the Rev. Jeremiah ("God damn America!" and "AmeriKKKA!") Wright and Jew-bashing hate-monger Louis (Judaism is a "gutter religion") Farrakhan. The racial justice award-winner called the latter a "great man" and welcomed him to his church.

Pfleger, a member of the Catholics for Obama Committee, stoked further racial division by mocking Hillary Clinton's skin color and accusing her of "white entitlement." It's one thing to ridicule Hillary's sense of political and ideological entitlement as part of the Clinton dynasty. But the demagogic emphasis on her race was beyond the pale.

Screamed Pfleger while wearing his Roman Catholic collar during a guest appearance at Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ:

"I really believe that (Hillary) just always thought, 'This is mine (congregation laughter, hoots). I'm Bill's wife. I'm white. And this is mine. And I jus' gotta get up and step into the plate.' And then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama.' And she said, 'Oh, damn! Where did you come from? (crowd goes nuts, Pfleger screaming). I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show. (sobs!)' She wasn't the only one crying! There was a whole lotta white people crying!"

On a roll, Pfleger mustered up his best Wright imitation and let loose on the entire country, proclaiming: "America is the greatest sin against God."

Pfleger has also embraced hate-crime hoax engineer Al Sharpton. Outraged Catholics across the country called on the archdiocese of Chicago to remove Pfleger. In response, Cardinal George meekly suspended Pfleger for two weeks over his "partisan" remarks -- and has now honored him for his "service" to "racial justice."

The sermon in 1 Corinthians 15:33 teaches us that bad company corrupts good character. Have they forgotten?

Cardinal George Finally Grows A Pair... Sort Of
Don't think you've heard the last from Presider Pfleger

Some interesting news coming out of Chicago. Turns out that the whiter shade of Malcolm X has been sent packing, kinda.

Here's some of the skinny from the Chicago Tribune;
Cardinal puts Pfleger on leave from St. Sabina

Cardinal Francis George today asked Rev. Michael Pfleger, the embattled pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church, to take a temporary leave of absence and contemplate his controversial remarks from the pulpit that surfaced on the Internet this past week.

"To put recent events in some perspective, I have asked Father Michael Pfleger, Pastor of St. Sabina’s Parish, to step back from his obligations there and take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties, effective today," George said in a statement.
Well, if that ain't heartening news! But wait a sec... did I just read that he will just be gone "temporarily"... "just a couple of weeks"? Yep, I sure did.

For the love of God, you'd think our "leaders" would have learned from the recent homosexual scandal that just rocked The Church, you DON'T deal with a problem by hiding it away for a period of time, and expect the problem to magically disappear. It takes LEADERSHIP to solve problems.

Oh, but there's the fatal flaw with the hierarchy in America: leadership, or lack thereof.

Let's jump in the ol' Wayback Machine and see just how effective Cardinal George has been with the good Father Pfleger, oh these many years ---- (Emphasis mine)
Popular Chicago priest vows to resist transfer
National Catholic Reporter
March 1, 2002 by Robert McClory

Chicago Cardinal Francis George has made it clear that he wants Fr. Michael Pfleger out of St. Sabina Church. And Pfleger has made it equally clear he won't go without a fight. Under Pfleger's leadership, St. Sabina on the city's south side has become the largest and most active African-American parish in the archdiocese.

But in November 2001 when Pfleger, 52, completed his third six-year term as pastor, George informed him that he is not granting any fourth terms to pastors. News of this development surfaced Feb. 11.
No fourth terms as of 2002, 'eh? I've said it before and I'll say it again - hey Cardinal George, how's it feel to be punked out by one of your own "obedient" priests?

Don't forget, Cardinal George is also the President of the USCCB. Gutless is as gutless does.

"Springtime Of The Church" Alert!!
When heretical moslems "preach" at a Catholic Church
Helmet tip to The MIG Fighter

I've posted about this idiot in the past. Good ol' "Father" Michael Pfleger of the Archdiocese of Chicago, and specifically of St. Sabina's "Faith Community" on the Southside.

This clown wants to be Jesse Jackson so bad, he can taste it. But in light of his overt Caucasianness, not much chance of any racial transplants taking place any time soon. So in the meantime, he satiates his appetite for secular and religious extreme liberalism by doing everything in his power to prove Our Lady of Akita right.

Unfortunately for Pfleger (and fortunate for the rest of us), his kind is a dying species. But in the meantime, he'll continue to send souls down the path of perdition... and all the while Cardinal George is too much of a coward to do or say a damn thing to bring this heresy-lover in line.

So if you will, take a gander at some of this article from National Review; (Emphasis mine)
Obama's Other Spiritual Mentor, Who Makes Wright Look... Eh, About The Same

Sure, Jeremiah Wright is Barack Obama's spiritual mentor. But he's not the only spiritual mentor Obama has — he also has James Meeks. We looked at him recently:

It's not like we're hearing an Obama delegate from Chicago in a church pulpit saying, "We don't have slave masters, we got mayors! But they are still the same white people who are presiding over systems where black people are not able to be educated. You got some preachers that are house n———! You got some elected officials that are house n———! Rather than them try and break this up, they're gonna fight you to protect that white man!"
Oh, wait, now we are hearing this.

What's fascinating in the video that Confederate Yankee dug up is the state senator, Reverend James Meeks of the South Side Baptist Church, declaring that the N-word is a "term of endearment." I kid you not.
Okay, so Obama's first two spiritual mentors have a propensity for screaming racially-charged language from the pulpit. But he has a third spiritual mentor, Rev. Michael Pfleger, and this one's a Catholic. So how radical could he be?

Dave Kopel found out. Some highlights:

Ambushed by a Bill O'Reilly camera crew, Pfleger stated: "He has—first of all, he has not called Judaism a gutter religion of blood suckers. That is not what he has said because I have heard that talk. I stick up for Louis Farrakhan because he is another person that the media has chosen to define how they want to do it. And they demonize how they want to demonize somebody. I know the man, Louis Farrakhan. He is a great man. I have great respect for him, he has done an awful lot for people and this country, black, white, and brown. He's a friend of mine." (The O'Reilly Factor, Apr. 3, 2008.) Farrakhan spoke at St. Sabina's on May 25, 2007. (Chicago Sun Times, May 10, 2007.) ...

Rev. Pfleger does not respect the property rights of persons who sell products he does not like. He "is known for climbing ladders to deface liquor billboards." (Crain's Chicago Business, Dec. 20, 2004.) ...

In another demonstration at Chuck's Gun Shop, owned by John Riggio, Rev. Pfleger told the crowd: "We're going to find you and snuff you out....Like a rat you're going to hide. But like a rat, we're going to catch you and pull you out....We're going to snuff out John Riggio." Rev. Pfleger also promised: "We're going to snuff out legislators that are voting against our gun laws. We're coming for you because we're not going to sit idly."

Rev. Pfleger later denied that his words had been meant to invoke violence, or that he had known that "snuff out" means to "kill." Rather, the determination to "snuff out" Riggio was a determination to find out his home address, which was not publicly available.

So, of all the priests, ministers, preachers, rabbis, imams, clerics, gurus, monks and medicine men in Chicago, Obama just happens to pick these three.

If three strikes means you're out; what does three spiritual mentors who sound hateful and unhinged mean?
And speaking of his Co-Idiot, Jeremiah Wright, you might find this tid-bit from Fox News interesting; (Emphasis mine) "I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back while you tear down Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright. How dare you. How dare you. How dare you seek to reduce Jeremiah Wright, who's one of the greatest Biblical scholars this nation has, to a 30-second sound bite and try to demonize him and trivialize him. You cannot do that."Poor St Sabina. For her to know that her name is even associated with such flat-out scandal much be almost too much to bear.

What I Tell Ya?
So much for "courageous leadership" of Cardinal George

From the Chicago Tribune;

Rev. Michael Pfleger is set to return June 16 after mocking Sen. Hillary Clinton, St. Sabina official says
South Side church erupts with joy that the archdiocese's 2-week sabbatical won't be permanent

By John Keilman Tribune reporter

The choir was booming, the dancers were swirling and open seats were scarce in the sweltering pews, but longtime members of St. Sabina Catholic Church thought Sunday's service was a bit flat in the absence of Rev. Michael Pfleger.

Cardinal Francis George had ordered the fiery activist priest to take two weeks off after Pfleger's widely broadcast comments mocking Sen. Hillary Clinton and saying, in what he later called a slip of the tongue, that "America is the greatest sin against God."

Some of his intensely devoted parishioners were worried that his sabbatical would prove permanent. So when a St. Sabina official announced during mass that Pfleger would return June 16, the church exploded in cheers.

"I was just overwhelmed," Brandy Scott, 27, said later. "I had to cry."
Yeah... I feel like crying, too. I'll bet luther is in his little corner of hell, laughing his ass off.

"We're Going To Find You & Snuff You Out!" ~
"Father" Michael Pfleger, St. Sabina's of Chicago
Helmet tip to Matthew from Down Under

I'm sure we've all heard by now of the loose-cannon nut-job of a priest who just threatened the life of not only a law abiding businessman, but also of pro-2d Amendment legislators.

Here's a bit of his rant;

He's the owner of Chuck’s, John Riggio, R-i-g-g-i-o. We're going to find you and snuff you out. You can't keep hiding because you're afraid. Obviously, you know you're doing something wrong. You wouldn't have your business in a truck. You wouldn't have a truck pulled in front of your door, because you know you've got to hide. Like a rat, you're going to hide, but like a rat we're going to catch you and pull you out. We are not going to allow you to continue to hide when we're here.

And specifically towards the legislators;

“We’re gonna snuff out legislators who are voting [garbled] against our gun laws and we’re coming for you because we are not going to sit idly.”

So I decided to check out St. Sabina's on-line. According to their own website;

St. Sabina is a Word-based, Bible teaching African-American Catholic Church that believes in the power of praise and worship.

I've never heard of the "African-American Catholic Church". Gee, I thought we're Catholics of the Roman Rite. Guess not. Also, If one is looking for African Catholic liturgy, there are Egyptian Coptic Catholic and Ethiopian Ge'ez Catholic parishes here in America. And what exactly is "Word-based". That's Prot-talk for preaching only, Sacraments need not apply.

I also noticed that St. Sabina's isn't a parish... it's a "Faith Community". They also don't have Mass, they have "worship services".

And as I perused their site, I found out that St. Sabina's operates the following;

~ The Shekhinah Clinic/The St. Sabina AIDS Clinic

~ The Spirit of David (Liturgical?) Dancers, both adult and youth

~ Choices (prison outreach)

~ The Ministry of Helps (I'm still trying to figure out what that one is)

Et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum...

I couldn't help but notice that there isn't one single "ministry" or "outreach" that's pro-life. But what do you expect from a priest how calls for the "snuffing out" of law abiding individuals who he doesn't agree with?

And best of all, check out this news article;

But when Pfleger, 52, completed his third six-year term as pastor, George informed him that he is not granting any fourth terms to pastors.

You want to know when this all this happened?

MARCH 1, 2002!!! Hey Cardinal George, what's it like to get punked-out by one of your own "obedient" priests?

And Archbishop Lefevbre was "excommunicated" for what, again?

"Dear Catholic Church, Go To Hell"
- Rev Michael Pfleger, Archdiocese of Chicago

Here's some of the article from LifeSiteNews.com; (Emphasis mine) Fr. Pfleger on Apology: They Made Me Do it, But I Didn't Mean it

CHICAGO, Illinois, April 16, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the latest episode in an ongoing controversy, Fr. Michael Pfleger has again publicly voiced his support for women's ordination, this time in a comment posted to his Facebook fan page. In that comment, he also notes that the archdiocese made him issue the apology he put out on Wednesday.

“Sunday, I mentioned in my Sermon that I believe in married Priests and Woman Priests,” the Facebook comment reads. “I was then told that I had to apologize for saying it durning [sic] a Sermon because that is not allowed, even though that is my opinion.

“I have received much hate from the right-winged who want my removal,” he added. “Amazing... Nobody Blogged me or youtubed me about helping Save our children or Stopping the Violence...”

His comment follows a Wednesday statement published on the Archdiocese of Chicago's website, which has since been removed. In the statement he admits that he advocated for women priests and bishops in his homily, but then says that, “While this is my personal opinion, I do respect and follow the Catholic Church teachings and I am sorry I failed to do this.”

Pfleger’s Sunday homily had been posted to the website of his parish, Saint Sabina's Catholic Church, and the 30-second clip in which he made the controversial remarks quickly made it onto Youtube. The homily and Fr. Pfleger's call for women's ordination remained posted on the parish website as of press time.

So When Exactly Will Cardinal George Grow A Pair And Dump This Buffoon?
Don't hold your breath

Oh, I've posted about this maniac many a time in the past. But the below video tales the cake. His alternating between his Jesse Jackson impersonation, and his breathless, and to be perfectly honest, feminine voice, is enough to make you puke.

I'm not even going to go into detail how this alleged Catholic has no problem "preaching" from a heretical sect that denies The Real Presence, most of the Sacraments, the perpetual virginity of The Holy Mother, papal authority, etc.

And the idiot who introduced Pfleger, described him "a pulpiteer". How true. It's all about Pfleger. I have a hard time believing that anything BUT Pfleger is the center of attention at any of his "Masses".

Pfleger Pflails & Pfails
That's Catholicism --- THE CHICAGO WAY!

Helmet tip to LarryD over at Acts of the Apostasy.

Pfleger Pfuror

Several days after receiving an award from Cardinal George, the Pfamous Pfather Pfleger gave a sermon on Divine Mercy Sunday wherein he openly called for the priestly ordination of women.

Note how many in the congregation responds. Sad.

Bingo
I couldn't have said it better myself

In it's entirety, a fantastic article from The American Spectator; (No emphasis needed) Touchdown Obama
By George Neumayr on 3.27.09 @ 6:08AM

The Catholic Church in America has bred her own destroyers, graduating from doctrinally corrupt catechetical programs, schools and colleges two generations of pro-abortion politicians. Barack Obama, in his effortless Alinskyite style, has exploited this phenomenon to the hilt, seeking out Catholics such as Joe Biden and Kathleen Sebelius to serve as his agents of destruction.

The controversy this week at Notre Dame is one more snapshot of this self-implosion. Here we have the American bishops' most prominent university planning to confer an honorary degree upon Obama even as he accelerates the destruction of its moral teachings.

Were Saul Alinsky alive today, he would have to smile at the ease of it all. Obama can not only thwart the Church at every crucial turn and still retain the Catholic vote; he can even expect over the next few years prizes and pats on the back from Catholic colleges for doing so.

Jesuit Georgetown University is no doubt itching to honor him too; its professors ranked seventh among all university faculties in donations to Obama during the campaign, reported the Chronicle of Higher Education. The Jesuit magazine America and Jesuit Thomas Reese rushed to Notre Dame's defense this week.

Perhaps Obama enthusiast/fellow Alinskyite Father Michael Pfleger can travel over from Chicago for ND's commencement exercises to fill in for the boycotting Fort Wayne-South Bend Bishop John D'Arcy.

To his credit, D'Arcy, a long and lonely opponent of Notre Dame's secularization, wants no part in the sham, correctly noting that the school is once again panting after "prestige" at the expense of "truth." Four decades of surrendering to secularist culture and championing progressive politics at Notre Dame have culminated in an honorary degree to the most pro-abortion president ever.

Responding to this criticism, its president, Father John Jenkins, has had to dust off the "dialogue" defense from the recent Vagina Monologues controversy on campus to justify his decision.

Out rolled from the president's office the familiar cart of clichés. "You cannot change the world if you shun the people you want to persuade, and if you cannot persuade them…show respect for them and listen to them," Jenkins was quoted as saying.

What's the logic here? To dialogue with a public figure a school has to confer an honorary degree upon him? This makes no sense, but it is the kind of head-faking non sequiter that appeals to Jenkins.

Just as he twisted the Vagina Monologues controversy into a beside-the-point discussion about the value of free speech, so he is casting this recent one as some sort of test of Notre Dame's commitment to "positive engagement."

The White House, sensing the drift of this script, joined in the charade, saying in response to the controversy that it welcomes the "spirit of debate and healthy disagreement on important issues."

Which makes one wonder: When exactly will the debate take place? Before, during or after the commencement exercises? Will it proceed like Jenkins' "creative contexualization" panel discussions about the Vagina Monologues? Or is Obama's interest in "healthy disagreement" about as plausible as Jenkins' notion of "positive engagement"?

Notice also that for additional PR protection Jenkins is playing the race card. "It is of special significance that we will hear from our first African-American president, a person who has spoken eloquently and movingly about race in this nation. Racial prejudice has been a deep wound in America, and Mr. Obama has been a healer," he was quoted saying this week.

Again, how is this relevant to honorary-degree-conferring from a Catholic university? Does opposing racial injustice absolve supporting other injustices?

Imagine a reverse scenario, say a politician who supported the Church's moral teachings down the line but had some racist blot in his past. Would Jenkins honor him? No, he woudn't dare. But somehow Obama's formal cooperation in the injustice of destroying innocent lives just isn't so bad.
