Let's Throw More Laws (AND MONEY!) At The Problem!
I'm really getting sick of this
Oh, am I going to really upset a whole bunch of people with this posting. But you know what? I don't care. I'm fed up.
With that said, there's absolutely no more of a need for "comprehensive immigration reform" then there is for grand pronouncements from the Chanceries concerning "Safe Environments" for children being around our own priests.
At the end of this posting, I have the sure fire, no doubt about it, just can't lose solution for the ills that befall our nation and Church.

The failure of law enforcement efforts to stem the tide of illegal immigration manifests the need for comprehensive immigration reform, according to Bishop John Wester of Salt Lake City, chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Migration.
“The federal government since 2002 has spent over $100 billion on immigration enforcement initiatives,” Bishop Wester writes in a Washington Post column. OK, fellow bloglodytes... Here's the solution - Just follow the damn rules.
1. If someone (anyone!) illegally enters this nation, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law to include incarceration.
2. If an employer (any employer!) knowingly hires someone who isn't qualified to work in this nation, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law to include incarceration and closing of their business.
3. If someone (anyone!) molests a child, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law to include incarceration.
4. If anyone (and I mean anyone!) rapes a child, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law to include execution.
Yes, it really is that simple.

You've hit the nail on the head Caveman. Especially in regards to illegal immigration, prosecuting the employer who hires illegals would handle the problem. If there are no jobs, they will not come.
Yes, it is that simple...but since when did we have intelligence running the government?
Caveman, I wish you were president! BTW I have it on good authority that child rapists need only be incarcerated - their fellow prisoners will take care of the execution.
But, but, but, it makes those silly lawmakers feel good about themselves to pass another useless law.
They would rather prosecute the enforcers of the law than actually accomplish something.
All legislatures really can do is spend money, and apparently not very wisely at that.
I have three child molesters living in my neighbourhood. They all moved in last month. If the state is spposed to protect us from evildoers, were's the protection from these pervs? Bring back hanging for these creeps!
