"Non serviam!"
"I will not serve." - Lucifer

Here's most of the article from CathNewsUSA; All kneel together: Ottawa Archbishop

Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast has issued a letter asking all Catholics to conform in when they kneel during mass, but not everyone is happy.

Archbishop Prendergast's letter recently asks that everyone kneel for the entire Eucharistic prayer from "Holy, holy, holy" to the conclusion "Let us proclaim the mystery of faith" -- about five minutes in all, the Montreal Gazette reports.

Archbishop Prendergast said in his letter: "I have noted a wide range of practices ... which present a lack of harmony in a matter where we should be united -- the worship of God.

"I know that it may not be easy for some to accept. However, I am convinced its implementation will bring blessings to our archdiocese and I invite your co-operation with this directive." ("Invite". That means the faithful had the legitimate option of saying "no".)

In an interview later, he explained: "It's a sign of reverence. People say, 'I don't like that. We are the people set free, we no longer have to kneel to God,' and I said, 'Wait a minute, we do have to kneel to God. Christ knelt in the garden. People knelt before Jesus. Why can't we do that for a few minutes at mass?' " (This is so pathetic. A Catholic Archbishop has to plead with Catholics just to kneel for a few minutes? Disgusting.)

One woman told him her husband might not come to church because of this. "She said, 'we French Canadians have a bit of an inferiority complex. We don't like people telling us what to do'."

He replied that, if the husband does come, he is free to stand through the prayer, but at the back of the church, where he won't confuse everyone else.
(What's it going to be, Archbishop? Yes or no?)

Right now, the Catholic church is asking, "Is (the mass) our thing or is it God's thing? There are certain tensions in the church about that. (Well, if you're standing at the back of the church, then it must be "our thing"... with your blessing.)

"After 40 years since the Vatican Council, we have gotten away from certain aspects of reverence; we're trying to have more harmony and co-ordination. Harmony will help bolster a sense of divine worship, something that has slipped away.
(How about just being a strong leader?)

Tell him he should go to a Protestant Church for Sunday worship, because he is jut that, a Protestant. Prots do not kneel much if at all, and not in their Sunday worship services (some few denominations excepted).

On second thought, perhaps he shouldn't go there. Why foist this obstreperous guy on some good Christians, even if they are Protestants?

He should do what our bishop did when he decreed that we shall stand, not kneel, for the Agnus Dei: just order it done. Period, end of subject. And so it has been ever since.

Oh honey, stop whining. You may be a chick, but sometimes even chicks have have to "man-up!" So, why don't you just kneel for the honor of your Lord and Saviour instead of what you usually kneel to do!

If this stupid cow doesn't like being told what to do, then she'd probably like to have the Ten Commandments be retitled the Ten Suggestions!

"Inferiority complex," indeed. More like hubris.

Actually cavefolks Archbishop Pendegrast is one of the good guys. If you live here in Canada you will know the mess the church is in. Keeling is the least of the problems. We have a priest who at every mass breaks the host during consecration. I have written to him and then taken it up with his boss the Archbishop who also wrote to him and copied me but the priest does what he wants. At such times all we can do is pray.
So here is the deal, we Canadians will pray for you Americans so that you do not become socialist like we are, and you Americans pray that a chastisement falls on us Canadians because we need that as that is the only way we will wake up.
When a child misbehaves the father punished the child not becasue he does not love the child, he loves the child a lot and that is why he punishes the child. So please ask God not to spare us his Anger becasue his Anger is for a moment but his mercy is endless. We are a spoiled child in need of correction

The U.S. needs badly a chastisement too. Perhaps the current Presidency is the chastisement. I dunno . . . .
