Ok, fellow HTGs. As my co-workers and I were bantering back and forth the other day, I thought up a three parter (along with your rating for each one you get right). Remember - no Google searches!
1. Name the three most recent declared wars America participated in. (You're smarter than a 5th grader.)
2. In each of those wars, at least one of the belligerent nations in each was at least technically a monarchy. Name those nations. (You're a half-ways decent armchair historian.)
3. Name the monarchs. (You da man!)
And no looking at any of the answers already given on the comments page!

Hi, Caveman, I'll take a shot at it (pun intended): 1: WWII, WWI, and the Spanish War. 2: Germany and Spain. 3: Kaiser Wilhelm II and (I think!) Alfonzo XII.

OK, here's the answers;
1. WWII, WWI, Spanish-American War.
2. WWII - The Japanese Empire, The Kingdom of Italy.
WWI - The German Empire. (We never declared war on the rest of the Central Powers.)
S-A War - The Spanish Empire.
3. WWII - Hirohito, Victor Emmanuel.
WWI - Wilhelm.
S-A War - Alfonso.
LOL, I just finished a review of a book on T.E. Lawrence, guess I had Ottoman on the brain; now, my feet are propped up on my ottoman.
Korea as the third? Guessing wildly. (Never was covered at school, and none of the vets of it that I know of tell stories.)

To be honest, I got my own question wrong! I was fairly sure we didn't decleare war on the other Cent Pwrs in WWI (so I got that right), but I would have never gotten Alfonso!

Vir, you must have been one heck of a drill instructor; if you'd have been my college professors I'd still be there. As it was I learned how to b.s. my way through an exam without knowing anything. It guess that's why the Marines win and the colleges suck.
There were no declarations of war from Congress for Korea, Viet Nam, Grenada, Panama, Yugoslavia (aka Serbia and Croatia), Iraq I, Iraq II, or Afghanistan... or the wars on Poverty, Drugs, or Terror.
WWII. The monarchy in question was Japan. Its monarch was the Emperor Hirohito.
WWI. The monarchy in question was Deustchland. Its monarch was Kaiser Wilhelm.
Guessing, here.... The Mexican-American War (Remember the Maine!). No clue regarding the monarchy or the monarch.
well, how bout that. About 67% correct.
