Keeping It A Christless Christmas
Allow me to point out the obvious

Two things I'd like to point out to these numbskulls -

1. Where do you think the basis for 'goodness' came from? Besides Natural Law that's in every human being (that comes from God, by the way), it's Christian moral law that's the foundation of our secular law. You know... murder, perjury, theft. That whole 10 Commandments thingee. 'Member that stuff?

2. When you take the day off work on the 25th of December, don't forget the entire reason you're sitting in front of the TV and shoveling chow in your pie-hole is solely due to the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If you feel that strongly about a Christless Christmas, go to work Christmas day.

I just love the American Humanist Association. What a bunch of wonderful Christians? ;-(

The "gunfire rubrics" article in Steve's link is real funny. Trouble is, one better be packing some serious heat because the bad guys' weapons undoubtedly will be of .666 caliber.

Hi, Caveman,
Where do they think the word came from? Christmas = Christ Mass. Doofuses all.

I'm reading the link about gunfire during Mass.

What is with Father talking about hunting ducks with bows ( they may bow, or duck)? Usually it's with shotguns and at duck ponds, not parishes.

Will there be a training course set up to insure that all concerned shall muster all the rubrics in the moment in question?

Hey look! It's the American AntiDepressant League! Seriously, stop being plastic and admit the misery of ultimate purposelessness. That would be honest secular humanism.

Why should I be good?

There is a cultural battle between the culture or arbitrariness and the culture of reality.
To say "be good" is meaningless if there were no good since there is no reference point to by which to judge what is good.

Viator - maybe they mean "don't do anything illegal" kind of good; or, be good enough not to get caught. According to their logic, Tiger Woods was "good" until he got caught. Then he was "bad", because he did a 'bad' job covering his tracks.

But you're right - to whose standard are they expecting people to be "good"? They're hopeless, in more ways than one.
