I'VE FOUND MY DREAM JOB!
Ohhh.... a "Vatican II" parish!

Helmet tip to the enigmatic C

Yes, I'm putting for this job. Emphasis mine, and my comments in black.

Director of Pastoral Ministries
Full Job Description

The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi seeks a creative, visionary leader to serve as Director of Pastoral Ministries for a 4600+ household, Vatican II parish.
(Thank God/Goddess/Supreme Being/Allah/My Big Buddy In The Sky! I'm so glad you've decided to disregard the 1,978 years prior to the Second Vatican Council. All those fuddy-duddies ranging from Pope St. Peter to Pope Pius XII. What did they know?) This is a full-time, professional, ministerial position with benefits. The Director supervises the Pastoral Ministries team (Great! I am directly in charge! Good to see you folks have the Presider someplace other than. We certainly don't need his interferance.) consisting of:

- Coordinator of Family Life (No priest. Cool.)

- Coordinator of Pastoral Care (No priest. Dig it, baby.)

- Coordinator of Ministry Resources of the Franciscan Coalition for Justice & Peace (A title with this many big words must be important.)

- Coordinator of Program Development of the Franciscan Coalition for Justice & Peace (Ditto.)

- Support staff and volunteer ministry coordinators (Wow... even the support staff and volunteers!? Looks like I'll be running the entire shooting match.)

The Director also serves on the pastor’s leadership team. (Please tell me he's just a figure head.) Ideal candidate has a degree and/or comparable experience in business administration and theology, plus experience leading a team of lay ministers and volunteers. (I'm currently employed with ACORN. I know all about business administration. Especially the horizontal kind.) A working knowledge of or a willingness to learn Catholic Social Teaching is required. (You mean I don't even have to know about what you call "Social Teaching"?) Experience working with the Social Mission of the Catholic Church is a plus. ( I don't know about "the Social Mission of the Catholic Church", but I've read the Communist Manifesto twice and subscribe to The Daily Worker. Is that close enough?)
Send resume and 3 professional references by November 30, 2009 to search@stfrancisraleigh.org, or to: Search Committee, Attn: Joan Port, The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Rd, Raleigh, NC 27613.

Hmmm, I see a parish that a bishop needs to suppress.

Sadly, our Bishop has no intentions of ever correcting the scandalous situation at St. Francis. He either a) sees nothing wrong with the absolute fraud that St. Francis is; or b) has chosen a Detente or mayby a containment strategy for the entire diocese. He never engages or brings a frontal attack against these heretics.

Who says we don't have female Bishops (Hint: no balls)? Before I read this, I never knew we turned into Episcopalians.

You want to be really scandalized. Access the "This job" link to the parish and find the gay ministry links. Then link on the links. Yep, a bishop (and other bishops) with no balls.

Vir Speluncae Catholicus, you beat me to it.

Our last parish had major hints of this, but not quite as bad. And like this parish, it was huge and I'm sure brought in some major dough for the bishop.

More than once in his letters, St. Pauls condemns "factions." When a parish limnits themsleves to being "Vatican II" and divorces itslef from the history and continuity of the One True Church, are they not forming a faction?

Vir makes a good point about a coomon failing of our so-called shepherds: being more concerned about money than the salvation of souls. Recall the lame beggar in Acts who asked Peter for money. Peter responded that he had neither silver or gold, but would give what he had, then wnet on to heal the man. Try to find the bishop today that would have to plead lack of ready cash, (Heck, evenb after his millions of dollars in sex scandal payouts, I don't see Mahoney going around in threadbare clothes and a rusty Yugo. Certain pastors and bishops would do well to read Our Lord's lilies of the fields sermon in which he tells the people not to worry about earthly things, that their heavenly Father would provide. So sad that faith is such short supply with many of our clerics.

I recently ran away from that parish and went to Dunn, Deo gratias.

The Bishop might not have said anything, but he always calls it "St. Francis of A-sissy" instead of the A-see-see Italian pronunciation. So now that's what I call it, too. It has a nice ring to it.

When will they realize that it only takes one to make a stand and the rest may follow.

Who the hell has the guts?
