Who Reads This Blog, Anyhow?
...And what exactly is a "bloglodyte"?
It's been pointed out to me in the past, that many believe the message of this particular blog is exactly what Catholics in general need to hear. The only "problem" some (many?) have with us, is that we're just a little too hard hitting. Just a little too crude. Just a little too rough around the edges.
And they say that like it's a bad thing.
So just in case there's any confusion, here's a snapshot of those who frequent The Lair and proudly call themselves Bloglodytes;~ Any man who openly says Grace before meals. Be it at home, some burger joint, or Tavern on the Green.
~ Any man who doesn't have a problem with a shot and a beer.
~ Any man who uses harsh language, but not in front of kids.
~ Any man who knows that it's the pointy end that goes in first to either the magazine or the cylinder.
~ Any man who understands that kneeling, hands folded, eyes closed and saying "Thank You, Lord for all You've given me. I'm truly thankful", is exactly the kind of things that real men say.
~ Any man who particularly enjoys hugging his wife (specifically) and little kids (in general).
~ Any man who's uncomfortable with holding/shaking hands at Mass, but relieved and grateful to be in the Confessional.
~ Any man who gets fighting mad when Holy Mother the Church is raped... by her own sons.
~ Any man who believes that Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.
~ And the women who love them.

Hi, VSC.
Re Bloglodytes: LOVE it! Thanks!!
Finally! A club I can meet the requirments for.
Ummmm....does the shot have to bourbon? I'm partial to Tennessee Sour mash, myself.
Hell yeah!
At last! A fraternity I'm proud to claim membership in!
Amen!!!
I would add one more...
~ Any man who carries a Rosary in his pocket and is not afraid to use it!
Or a mantilla in her purse!
Any man who believes that Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.
This is my favorite!
(Some cave-babes are like this, too! Except I try to tone down the harsh lingo.)
any woman who knows that her fertility is a gift from God to her and her husband and is not to be withheld for any but the most serious of reasons.
any woman who dreams of being able to use the phrase "my son the priest."
any man who has wept in front of an abortion clinic as he prays his rosary because he knows the horrors going on inside and has the strength required to stand there anyway and put it all into God's hands.
OK, Marine, TH2 has some questions for you, your answers thereof I would find interesting:
Ug, Caveman say: "It's been pointed out to me in the past, that many believe the message of this particular blog is exactly what Catholics in general need to hear. The only "problem" some (many?) have with us, is that we're just a little too hard hitting. Just a little too crude. Just a little too rough around the edges."
1. You make reference to a blogger on this blog who says that this site is "blocked" by the USCCB.
Can you confirm?
2. Are you able to keep track of who/where visits this blog? How? Any patterns? There are quite a number of orthodox Catholic blogs who link to the Cave - so my guess is that there are more people out there listening in than you may think. Just that they do not want to comment.
3. Who are these people who say that the Caveman is too "hard hitting"? Any idea? Fence sitters? Borderline dwellers?
4. How often do you delete comments? Or do you? If so, why?
"Any man who uses harsh language, but not in front of kids."
....or ladies.
Any man who knows that it's the pointy end that goes in first to either the magazine or the cylinder.
And any man who doesn't refer to a magazine as a "clip."
I have no problem with a shot and a beer, so long as I get shot ONLY after I've had my beer.
True, FAB... true. I stand corrected.

TH2, to answer your questions ---

That was just said in jest. But I wouldn't be shocked if at least some of the members wish we would go away.
2. Are you able to keep track of who/where visits this blog? How? Any patterns? There are quite a number of orthodox Catholic blogs who link to the Cave - so my guess is that there are more people out there listening in than you may think. Just that they do not want to comment.
SiteMeter does a half-ways decent job of tracking some of the basic info. And yes, you're right... I think most simply read the posts but don't comment (which is OK by me. I just want to bring the abuse and other assoreted bullshit going on in The Church to peoples attention.)
3. Who are these people who say that the Caveman is too "hard hitting"? Any idea? Fence sitters? Borderline dwellers?
Ohhh.... that's just a generic comment I run across every other month or so. I gently point out to these good folks that not only am I a Catholic, I'm also a Caveman. I have every intention in the world of killing that fly with a sledgehammer.
4. How often do you delete comments? Or do you? If so, why?
It's rare I delete comments. But there is one Canadian fudge packing aetheist who is in forever delete. This poor soul has his comments automatically deleted without so much as even being read. Much like his deviancy, his posts are an excersize in futility.
Anyhow, the "Codex" on the left hand side explains what it takes to be excavemunicated.
Hope this helps!
HERE HERE!! :-D
Thanks for taking the time to answer my Qs. Keep blogging...
Amen.
Proud member.
Well, I'm not a Catholic, but, I like your by-laws! Praise God!
I guess I will have to crawl out of my hole (a/k/a my rut) and crawl into my cave! LOL
