Initial Impression Of Abp. Dolan

It's apparent this His Excellency is a nice guy. And that's always a good thing. I wonder if it's possible to nicely execute a writ of excommunication? Let's hope we find out.

But one thing I will say... I really liked this quote from his first press conference as the Archbishop of New York; He decried a phenomenon in which people want to be religious, but without a sense of belonging to a community of faith.

“They want to believe without belonging,” he said. “They don’t mind being the sheep, but without a shepherd. They don’t have mind the family, as long as they’re the only child.

Yeah, get used to those types of quotes. I attended his Sunday mass for a while and he had a knack for communicating the right idea, the right way, at the right time.

OK, so he's a good salesman with a glib tongue. Now what else does he bring to the (ecclesiastical) table beside a cheese head on his head?

Yeah, like I said, "he's a nice guy..."

Here's hoping that his pleasant demeanor dosen't keep him from coming down with both feet when needed.
