Why I CANNOT STAND the R.C.I.A.!!!
It has become a dumping ground for everything nauseatingly protestant about the Novus Ordo. Is it just me or has anyone ever considered that people converting to the True Faith do so, in large part, to get away from this inane and freakish tripe?! It hurts to even watch this!
It's worse than Vince from ShamWow® and SlapChop®! I hate it - it drives me nuts and makes me think less than charitable thoughts about the "cantress" singing in the background and the sanctuary flitting hipster wearing sandals in the forefront!
Yet, I just can't stop watching!!!!!

What the sam hill was that?? Anyone after watching these charades and who can still say, "But I don't understand Latin," or who see nothing wrong with this and the rest of them, need their head examined. simple as that.
I recognize that cantress' voice!!! She's the one who did that horrible "Litany of the Saints" that is now used at most ordinations.
Throw up vice stand up.
(sing along with me...)
Idiot in saan-dallls!
Freaky guy in poly-blend suuu-uuuit!
Cantress who thinks she can si-iiing!
SHUT THE !@*#≈! UP! and be Silenced by the Wrath of an Angry God!
Ugh! All I can say is that I must belong to a different religion from these folks, only I don't know which religion is Catholic and which one is not. After all, they have a bishop there as a celebrant. We sure live in confusing times!
Holy crap! I'm Anglican, and if I saw somebody pulling that bilge in my church I'd probably wind up in jail for "brandishing of a firearm!"
That is truly dreadful; are you sure they're not Episcopalian?
Blechh!!! Talk about your liturgical dry heave!
I think they need a call from 'The Heretic Whisperer'.

My better half is currently enduring RCIA here in the Dallas area. She chalks it up to making a sacrifice for the suffering souls in Purgatory.
Easter can't come soon enough.
gross
Being a convert who loves his authentic Catholicism. If I would have seen this I would have told my sponsor, "Hey I didn't know that I had to have be family jewels removed and act like a fairly to be a good Catholic!"
How does this crap inspire men to be men of faith, or even consider the Priesthood unless your plan was to be a vigilante Priest taking out liturgical abusers at every turn.
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT
Nope, not clicking there. Seen that sort of tripe before, and I don't need to ever see it again. Those who think they need to make things up for the Church to "truly celebrate" have never known the Church at all. You would think that after 2,000 odd years, there would be enough for them to choose from, but no, they go all protestant at the mere mention of RCIA. Dignity be damned, let's have a hootenanny. (upchuck)
How about we go back to private lessons with the priest and a quiet ceremony after they prove they know the Church?
Well, I guess I can take solace in the fact that I have no idea what in the hell the rite of election is. Otherwise, this video does nothing but bring me profound sadness. I can't even laugh or get angry at this stuff anymore.
WTF was that! I don't know what this Rite of Election is, and I don't want to know.
From Wikipedia:
The conclusion of this Period leads onto the Rite of Election or Enrolment of Names for those who are unbaptized and the Rite of Calling the Candidates to Continuing Conversion for those who are baptized. This is a very significant and important step in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is usually celebrated on the First Sunday of Lent at the local Diocesan Cathedral, led by the local Bishop. All of the Catechumens and Candidates, their Godparents (for Catechumens) and Sponsors (for Catechumens and Candidates) gather together on this day. It often involves hundreds of people coming together for this occasion. The Church formally ratifies the Catechumens' readiness for the Sacraments of Initiation, and the Candidates' readiness to be received into full Communion with the Catholic Church. In turn the Catechumens - from now on known as the Elect - publicly acknowledge their desire to receive the Sacraments of Initiation, and the Candidates' their desire to be received into full Communion with the Catholic Church.
VME: In other words: The Rite of Election is an opportunity for the seasoned poorly formed to make a pathological, para-liturgical spectacle of the Faith for the newly, poorly formed. Thank God, some priests not only refuse to subject their converts to this puke, they see it as their job to protect the "Elect" from their "rite."
So they become "Elect" and are "counted among the chosen of God" only by become Catholic?
Those libs should be offended at such an obvious defense of the "outdated" dogma Extra Ecclesia Nulla Salus! :)
Thanks once again Cavey for making me vomit in my mouth on Tuesday morning!! WTF, Over???
Please stop! My blood pressure has now reached new heights, thanks to you. Will be sending the doctor's bill directly to NC today!
Semper Fi
Cavey,
You know better then most why I choose to attned SSPX & FSSP Masses.
BTW: Please remind me why Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was excommunicated back in 1988? I seem to have forgotten.
[Primal scream]
Why don't I feel better?
Stop the madness...
(And Phil, I pray for you, your battle, and your vocation every day!)
Please tell me that piece of modern art sitting on that hexagon (or is an octogon) platform is not supposed to be an altar! And, if it is, how does a priest/presdier/celebrant say Mass without committing the Novus Ordo sin of (gulp) turning his back to part of the congregation?
I couldn;t watch the whole thing, but am left asking myself: what kind of religious training about our Faith have those people received if they would submit themselves to be involved in that embarrassing performance?
I dont know what the heck that was. My husband had to go through the Rite of Election when he went through RCIA but it was nothing, nothing like this.
Please don't let this video color your view of RCIA. In may parish, it is a VERY good program and nothing like this. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone through it myself or sponsored others in it.
I went thru RCIA last year and I saw NOTHING like this. I would have left if I had.lol
Truly...terrifying...
*shudders
