Saint Louis, Roi de France, priez pour nous!

L'énonciation du jour
QUOTE-o-the DAY
Fr. Vincent Robin FSSPX, working in the Diocese of Amiens, commenting about the general attitudes manifested by the French episcopacy toward the lifting of the excommunication of the four SSPX bishops and the likely reconciliation between Rome and the Society of St. Pius X said:

"Conciliar charity is decidedly unattractive, and is undoubtedly one of the reasons for the empty [French] churches. It is always easier to preach obedience than to practice it. Now that the dignitaries of the Church must abide by the Pope on a difficult matter we will see what sort of example they set."

I wonder if they will be like the German idiots who have been calling for him to step down.

How does someone ask a Pope to step down?

This all the proof one needs that Pope Benedict XVI is doing the right thing.

Quote from one article I read said "a high vatican official indicated that the lifting of the excommunications was a mistake" I hope someone finds that idiot and takes him to the woodshed.

Unattributed quotes tend to be made up by the writer, so don't lose too much sleep over a turncoat.

Also, even those of us who are uneasy about this situation should know better than to second guess the Pope. Either you are Catholic, or you are not, and if you are, my good Bishops, then act like it and accept the Pope's word on this matter. Nobody said you have to like it, just accept it.

Didn't Moses and Jesus have issues with the murmurers, too? I guess things really never change.

I may be wrong, but I believe that high vatican official was Cardinal Kasper, who heads the pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. He is hardly a champion of orthdoxy or Tradition. The fact that he is discouraged and thinks it was a mistake only reveals what a wonderful thing the lifting of the excommunications was.

Long Live Our German Shepherd
The longer the libs scream the better. Or to quote a British comment that I have fell in love with

"Duck and cover, chaps. There are going to be a few more toys thrown out of prams, and undoubtedly it will all end in tears before bedtime (and a necessary nappy change).

This is a lovely statement. Its asking the Catholic hierarchy to be faithful to the Pope which might be a concept which is new to some of the hierarchy.
I am quite excited that the SSPX excommunications have been revoked. Now I hope that soon they will be in full communion with the church as the Pope has already allowed the 1962 missal to be used so the only thing pending is juridical rights for the SSPX bishops.

Wouldn't it be great if our Beloved German Shepherd placed one of the SSPX bishops in charge of Los Angeles once Mahoney retires? LOL

Yep, just like their refusal of the Latin Mass in their Churches....isn't it nice to be in "full communion"?

I think it is interesting to see bishops come out against the Pope when this is not a dogma matter of faith issue. I have not seen anything in catholic teaching on the number of jews killed in camps or the manner. I think this bishop is wrong, but since when is what a bishop says reason for his not being in the Catholic Church. If this is a new standard, I think we can all start searching for the bishops and cardinals who have publically disagreed not only with the Pope, but on Catholic teaching. we can stop this nut from coming in as we escort out many of those who have dissented on Catholic teaching issues for decades.
Of course if this bishop was not a so called traditionalist, but a left wing nut calling for women priests and more, the same people would be talking about his right to free speech.

Once the Red Guru retires? You mean once he goes to jail, right?

Catholic dignitaries abiding by the Pope on a difficult matter? You mean like they did after Pope Paul VI issued Humane Vitae?

Hah!

Chestertonian: As someone here in LA, yes, that would be wonderful.
