We All Know That ESCR Is A Bust
So why are the Democrats sooooo in love with it?

This is what you wanted, America... this is what you get. I will say that I'm heartened by certain bishops of the USCCB publicly calling out The Butcherette From The Bay Area Via Baltimore, but as we all know, faith without works is dead.

Here's some of the article from The California Catholic Daily; (Emphasis and comments mine) “Gravely immoral”
Pelosi wants Congress to pass law undoing Bush restrictions on stem-cell research

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco Democrat who describes herself as “an ardent Catholic,” wants to undo the Bush administration’s restrictions on stem cell research by having Congress nullify the outgoing president’s executive orders on the issue. President Bush also repeatedly vetoed stem cell research bills sent to him during his tenure in office, but President-elect Barack Obama is expected to sign any such legislation should it reach his desk.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as recently as June 2008 issued a statement on stem-cell research reiterating the longstanding position of the Church: “Harvesting these ‘embryonic stem cells’ involves the deliberate killing of innocent human beings, a gravely immoral act,” the bishops said.
(Why are you guys so deathly afraid to use the phrase "Mortal Sin"?)

Political observers have said they expect President-elect Obama to undo Bush’s executive orders restricting stem cell research shortly after taking office, but Pelosi says she thinks enacting federal laws that would tie a president’s hands from issuing executive orders like those of President Bush is the better option.

"I myself would favor legislation, so it is the law," Pelosi was quoted as saying in a Jan. 4 International Herald Tribune story.

Pelosi’s position on stem cell research is not the first time she has publicly taken positions contradicting Church teachings. In an August 2008 interview with Meet the Press, Pelosi described herself as “an ardent, practicing Catholic,” but said, “I don't think anybody can tell you when life begins, human life begins. As I say, the Catholic Church for centuries has been discussing this… over the history of the church, this is an issue of controversy.”
(Translation: F*** you, Catholic Church.)

The Speaker’s remarks prompted an outcry from Catholic bishops around the country, including Cardinal Edward Egan of New York, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver, and Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C. Cardinal Justin Rigali of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities and Bishop William Lori of the USCCB’s Committee on Doctrine issued a joint statement to the press that said, in part, “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi misrepresented the history and nature of the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church against abortion.” (Ohhhh... she "misrepresented" Church teaching. For cryin' out loud... I know these guys took a vow of celibacy, but does that mean they were castrated, as well? Has anyone found any testicle donors yet?)

On Sept. 5, 2008, San Francisco Archbishop George Niederauer issued a lengthy statement regarding Pelosi’s remarks, which concluded: “Speaker Pelosi has often said how highly she values her Catholic faith, and how much it is a source of joy for her. Accordingly, as her pastor, I am writing to invite her into a conversation with me about these matters. It is my obligation to teach forthrightly and to shepherd caringly, and that is my intent. Let us pray together that the Holy Spirit will guide us all toward a more profound understanding and appreciation for human life, and toward a resolution of these differences in truth and charity and peace.” (What was it again that sound and fury signified?)

So far, there has been no word on whether Pelosi has had that conversation with the archbishop.
(And why should she respond? Nothing's going to happen to her anyhow. And don't forget, Nancy Pelosi is a Catholic in good standing. Archbishop Lefevbre was "excommunicated" WHY, again?)

I hear the Pope is going to undo the excommunications (as he should) for the SSPX)...Is there any wonder why we boycott the USCCB?

Arrgh. She should stop calling her self Catholic. we should pray that she converts though. Could you write to her and tell her that we are all praying for her conversion. That should bother her a bit.

What I don't understand is why do people like to hang onto being "Catholic" for all the cultural bling associated with it and yet ignore the bible, church teaching and the CCC? Is it stubboness? Is it a mistaken "following my conscience"? Is it having a bunch of liberal 'church' types who wisper sweet nothings and pat her on the back? What is it?

Here we go again. Democrats are so blatantly fascist it'd make Mussolini say "Now there's a donna that gets it."

Lola: If they don't say they are Catholic, then they don't get the attention they would have otherwise. It isn't news when a Methodist gets divorced and remarries, or has an abortion, or is a flaming homosexual, or any of the other grossly sinful acts that Protestants have proclaimed "OK." It is indeed news when some hussy thumbs her nose at a Catholic Bishop or even the Pope and gets away with it. That feeds the anti-Catholic bigotry inherent in the protestant news media. Nothing lurid about a Unitarian abusing small boys--they aren't priests, after all.

Here's praying a Bishop with some backbone goes after these protestants in Catholic clothing sometime soon, in defense of Holy Mother Church.

Cavey, that would be due to their recognition that they cannot be 100.000000000000% sure that those advocating ESCR have full knowledge and freely consent -- the OTHER two prerequisites of mortal sin.
