Cowardice By Any Other Name
Just because they call themselves Catholic...
Helmet tip to Vir Speluncae Orthodoxae
VSO shot me the site for a group of misguided "Surrender Here, Surrender Now" eejits that go my the nom de weenie Catholic Peace Fellowship. Or to better illustrate their particular brand softheadedness;Help raise a mighty league of conscientious objectors! Our resources are few, but with your help, CPF can keep reaching out to soldiers and students, sharing the Church's tradition of peace. Hmmm... does the Battle of Tours; the Battle of Vienna, the Battle of Lepanto, the Holy Crusades, etc, count as "the Church's tradition of peace"?
Maybe the countless Pontiffs who've donned armor themselves to defend Christendom? Could it be those inconvenient passages in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that authorize war? Or could it possibly be when God Almighty (and yes, that includes Jesus Christ) ordered the ancient Hebrews to war on more than one occasion?
Peace is the tradition of The Church, but never at the cost of cowering in the face of evil. Yes Virginia, there really are somethings worth fighting and possibly killing for. Standing up to Islamofascism is one of them.
If these gutless maggots had it their way, we'd all be bowing to the East and worshipping the moon god 5 times a day. Or at a minimum, half of America would be Sprechen Sie Deutsch as a matter of course, and the other half would be dining on fish heads and rice every day.

This is what happens when you define peace merely as the absence of war.
What really gets me is how the website extolls Franz Jagerstatter as an example of what they stand for when he was the total opposite. He wasn't a pacifist of their ilk. He was standing up to evil in the form of the Nazi regime & was willing to lay his life on the line to do so. He never opposed war per se, just the Nazi war machine. That is what he wobjecting to.
So, when are they going to cover St. Joan of Arc? Or Fr. Capodanno?
I think we know the answer to that one.
I am quite frankly surprized they gave the little acknowledgement to the just war theory that they did.
We won't go into how out of context they take the rest of Catholic teaching either.
I'd prefer to avoid war whenever possible. But not at the expense of letting evil win. I think they would.
As I recall, Jesus made a whip and chased the moneychangers out of the Temple, so I suppose that whole pacifism thing it really just an excuse to grind an ax in public for the attention they will get. I suggest ignoring their ignorant selves and perhaps they will go away and get a new schtick.
Don't forget the Defense of Malta by the Knights of St. John Hospitaller in the list of glorious victories over Islam. Without the Defense of Malta, all Europe would be speaking Turkic and St. Peter's would be a mosque.
Whom did Christ commend for having faith not found in all Israel? Ans: A Roman centurion.
Evidently He had no problem with soldiers, even those occupying a foreign land.
Maybe it has to do with the whole, "My Kingdom is not of this earth.." schtick. Ya think?
And to think all I was doing was looking for writings online of St. Isaac of Syria. I found them quoting him.
