It's Time We Took Our Party Back!!!
The resurgance of the Reagan Republicans

The Moderates had their chance, and they totally screwed things up. It's time for change I can believe in.

Here's some of the story from Fox News; Steele Likely to Seek RNC Leadership Post
The former Maryland lieutenant governor is considering a run for the chairmanship of the Republican Party, a source close to the situation told FOX News.

Michael Steele, former lieutenant governor of Maryland, has decided to run for the chairmanship of the Republican National Committee and is in talks with Newt Gingrich to win the former House speaker's endorsement, FOX News learned Tuesday.

Steele declined to comment, but a source close to the situation said Steele would announce his candidacy as early as Thursday.

The source also contradicted a report in Tuesday's Washington Times that Steele and Gingrich were competing for the RNC post.

"There is no fight," the source said. "This tension between Michael Steele and Newt Gingrich is totally fabricated and, in fact, Gingrich and Steele are working together to create a new strategy for the direction of the GOP."

Meanwhile, Steele is said to be hoping that his entry into the race will scare off other hopefuls, including current RNC chairman Mike Duncan.

Others vying for the post include Chip Saltsman, who chaired Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign.

It's being reported that Steele may not be pro-life. Do you have any info on that?

Paul,
This may help. http://catholic-caveman.blogspot.com/2008/04/if-gop-had-half-brain.html

Probably the most "pro-abortion" thing I've ever read about his is that he has "qualms" about the rape and incest provision..... not that he's against it, but has "qualms".

And for what it's worth, I know that NARAL hates his guts - http://www.prochoiceamerica.org/elections/2006/election-news/steele-dobson.html

Hope this helps!

I'd love to Steele get it (more than HUckabee's guy).

Some real Republican leadership would be nice for a change. Now that the election is over, I hope what we had here was a replay of 1976, and that therefore next year will be a replay of 1980!

By the way, you've won yet another award!

Folks, I am sorry but Simplex is out. I don't want anything to do with the Repubs in the future. It is time to fight for a third party and trash the two government parties. How many times are you willing to bend over and take it.

We cannot afford to allow a moderate to talk the talk then not walk the walk.

Vir guy:

Hey, let's see if the "Country-Clubbers" are willing to put down their martini's first and do something. I know it doesn't matter to them who's in power, just so long as the bar doesn't run out of olives. But maybe BO will close the bar to only community organizers. That would piss them off.

I am with you on your disgust. When I saw McCain gaining in the primaries, I was sick enough to hurl. Another "Bob Dole" moment was about to be upon us. Yup, McLame didn't let us down, eh? Maverick, my *ss, he's a wuss.
