As the Europeans laugh at us due to our collective whining over gas hovering around $4 a gallon, I'm still amazed at the number of drivers who steadfastly run their air conditioners, even when the high temps were in the low 70's.
And more often than not, those who ran their A/C's even when the weather was nice, were those who owned those gigantic vehicles that got around 300 yards per gallon. And they're often the ones who bitch the loudest about the cost of fuel.

It's so true!
Now, granted, not all of us were born 'n' raised in the South, you know. Yankee carpetbaggers like me don't know how to deal with the humidity, so the a/c provides a double function - keeps us cool AND dry.
This whole windows-down thing... I've given it a try, but it's just horrendous on damp mornings. No thank you.
I drive one of those giant vehicles, and I bitch about fuel prices. I'll make you a deal, when you can find me a car that can carry my large, Catholic family around AND it gets good gas mileage, I'll buy it on the spot and never bitch about it again.

But here's the kicker..... do you needlessly run the AC, even when the weather is nice? I'll wager you don't!
Believe me, I have no problem with someone owning a SUV, nor do I have a prob with folks angy about high gas prices AND voicing their disapproval.
What DOES irritate me to no end, is those that are wasteful, and STILL piss and moan!
For some odd reason, I'll bet you feel the same way as I do!

Here in London (UK) we're paying about £1.23 per litre of unleaded. I gallon is, I think, 4.55 litres...
So we're paying £5.60 per gallon...
That's $11 for a gallon of petrol.
Yes, I do run the AC when it's nice outside, I'll admit it. I'm a girl, and rolling the windows down would mess up my hair.
