Remember the other day when I posted a story concerning the "priest" in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown who had the High Altar demolished and thrown into the dumpster... more often than not in the dead of night?
Well guess what? He's just been arrested and charged with having sex with male prison inmates, and it's also come to light that he also payed out thousands of dollars in hush-money to his "boyfriend".
I don't know who I should be more disgusted with... those "priests" who commit these vile acts, or some of our so-called "leaders" who constantly protect them. Either way, I'm pretty much fed-up with those who've turned the words Catholic Priest into a punch line.
In all fairness, I have to remind myself that there are still plenty of decent, hard-working men of God out there that quietly go about their business of saving souls.

I hope he is defrocked, convicted, and goes to prison, but that poor parish he wrecked will probably never get an altar rail again, especially one as nice as they had.
Not only does he ruin the insides of his church, he ruins the insides of other men.
It's interesting how disordered living can manifest itself in other ways - like being totally sleazy and thoughtless about "renovating" the church. It makes sense that a Priest who is banging a prison inmate would turn around and do whatever he likes elsewhere without a second thought. I'm not saying that *all* priests who allow (or directly engage in) modernizing parishes are sexually perverse. But I do think that all of the post Vatican II "modernisation" was a symptom of a deeper rebellion against God - as shown by this priest in Altoona and his dumpster habits, both in and outside of the prison! I'm honestly not surprised that he was arrested for having sex with men in prison - and paying hush money to said boyfriend.
The really sad thing is that these Priests who are in rebellion against God are also in an excellent position to spread their poison through their flock. And then the minority of limp-wristed warm-fuzzy liberals get to take control of everything.
40 years later it's so easy to see all of this played out. Rebel Priest/Bishop empowers minority of liberals in parish - and they take over and destroy the faiths of everyone else...
Ugh. It's going to take a lot of damage control to clean this mess up.
