A reader sent me the following photos of three girls (I've omitted their faces) — dressed rather provocatively — who, er, danced at a recent Franciscan Jubilee Mass for a group of women religious at the cathedral in the Joliet, Ill., Catholic diocese.
Am I sexually attracted to a single one of them? Absolutely NOT! Yeah, Baby!!!!

I've read on another blog how the owner "enjoys the Novus Ordo orthodoxy" or some such nonsense. Yeah... right.
Even though Matt Abbott didn't show the faces of our lovely Liturgical Go-Go Dancers, I was able to get a close up of "Father Groovydude" ~

No problemo caveman! Not to change the subject but have you read about Cardinal Pell over in Australia and how the Australian Parliament want to hold him in contempt of Parliament for speaking out against Embryonic Stem Cell Research. If Parliament incarcerates him then I think its high time we boycott anything Australian!
Strippers dancing for women religious at a Mass? There's something wrong here. Maybe they were dancing for WOMYN religious?

Too late for me. I started boycotting them when they took the firearms away from all their law-abiding citizens (just like England) and destoryed them. Now they're surprised their crime rate had gone UP! (Just like England.)
This is a bachelor party, right?

Hey, if you had these dancers at Mass where I live, my husband would arrange his work schedule to be there daily. Only one problem--he would be dead within the week. And, after my heartfelt confession, I would be in Purgatory, with him, for a long long time. LOL!
The reality of this is hard to believe--are you sure it's real?
Young women dancing in their underwear! Utterly pagan! I could just imagine what St. John Chrysostom might say.
How's this supposed to lead us to scorn the passing things of this world for the things of heaven?
Anyway, call up Marty Haugen the composer of the "Mass of Creation." Tell him we'll need a new Mass setting -the "Mass of Procreation" because I fear that's what a good number of men will be tempted to think watching such half-naked dancers.
Novus Ordo Orthodoxy is an oxymoron All these people would've be anathematized in any other time.
Oh.my.gosh. I've been *hearing* about these liturgical go-go dancers via titles of posts around the blogosphere, but I purposely avoided actually *reading* the posts or *looking* at the pics. Until now. Wow. I need to wash my brain out with soap now.
I'm thinking this is photoshop central. Look at the priest's right hand in the second photo, and the girl's outstretched arm.
It's not that I don't find "liturgical" dance a cringe-worthy abomination, but this isn't a case of it.
I think you have a point, Dale. The entire placement of the priest and the girl in the second photo, in relation to the background is "off".

Sorry guys... I just don't see what you're pointing out.
I can't even see the priest's right hand in the 2d pic. Do you mean the 1st pic?
Sorry, I meant to clarify. To me, anyway, its the priests *left* hand in the second pic. The perspective of the priest and the girl just doesn't seem correct to me.
Also, where is the altar in the second picture? It also seems to me that the congregation is awfully close to the priest in that second picture. It just doesn't look correct from a depth perspective...perspective.
Caveman: I just read that Matt Abbot says he is "morally certain" that the pictures are real. I'll assume the same.

You know, it would be a shame if these really are doctored photos. There's no need to fabricate what's already happening hand over fist.
I sent an E-Mail to Father Chuck to confirm that this incident took place. I have seen photos of other times where Liturgical Dancing has taken place but NEVER, NEVER EVER, have I seen such slutty clothing worn before.
Sad, but true!
Mea culpa--I was big-time wrong about this one.
Er, let me explain further--check out Matt's original link again. He's updated it with more details and photos, and he has in his possession a copy of the program (he sent me an excerpt).
As much as I want these photos to to be fake, they aren't. There are too many of them, the oddities of the middle photo notwithstanding.
P.S. I'm the "certain Catholic blogger" Matt is referring to.
