The Definition Of True Ecumenism
Quick... notify the USCCB

I normally don't watch The Colbert Report, but as I was channel surfing the other night, I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem from Stephen Colbert ~

"But I'm not speaking against [Presidential Candidate Gov. Mitt Romney] being a Mormon. In fact, I consider all religions equal. And by equal, I mean they're all tied for 2d place behind Catholicism."

Caveman,

Have you checked out Stephen Colbert's wikipedia knockoff page?

It's wikiality.com

I especially love the "Lutherans" entry:

Enjoy!

That's the best statement I've heard on ecumenism!

Hey, Cavey... mega favour to ask. Have a look at this post of mine, and see if you can give it that authentic caveman touch. You do rant soooo well, I can only sit back and admire!

I never really "got" Stephen Colbert but this pretty much sums up my feelings.

Big Seester,
Thanks for the heads-up.
Absolutely hilarious.

The Mormon church tied for 2nd place?? Does this guy know that Mormons believe God was once a man, from another planet--I think this "cult" needs to be placed further down the line.

But, Mitt Romney is such a sweet man (sarcasm). A bit guilable! I can just imagine a Muslim terrorist selling him a bridge in Iran.

Would you want the leader of your country to believe in a religion who's main book, uses large blocks plagerized from the Bible, mixed up with plagerisms from other books, has no historical, geographical or archaeological truth, and uses language terms unknown when the book was supposedly written?

He probably could believe the "Divinci Code" is true--if he's buying the lies of this fictional book (oh, but he's so nice).

Right:

Mormons are not Christians, they are of their father, the devil.

At least Baptists get Jesus 101 right.

Colbert's is the most perfect definition of ecumenism I've heard.

If you are not right, you're all equally wrong. And to be right you need to be Catholic. :)

That's why I love 'em, Colbert, one of the few practicing Catholics on TV, and one with spine to boot!
