Wanted: Orgasm Seekers
While that earthquake is flushing SF in to the ocean, take the Diocese of Oakland with you

In a stunning (well, maybe not THAT stunning) turn of events in the other major city in the Gay Area, the Diocese of Oakland's Gay outreach ministry will show a film that teaches homosexuality “is as natural for homosexuals as heterosexuality is for heterosexuals”.

Uh-huh... do tell. And it's natural for alcoholics to get rip-roaring drunk? It's natural for wife beaters to thump the daylights outta their spouses and kids? It's natural for serial killers to go on a rampage? Why not? There's been scientific research stating that all three examples I've given are genetic in nature.

In other words... "I was born to be;
~ a drunk
~ a wife beater
~ a serial killer

After all, the (junk) science is there.

But speaking of junk (as in theology), let's get back to the Diocese of Oakland. Their Gay and Lesbian Outreach Ministry Team will be presenting the documentary film “Straight from the Heart” during an evening of discussion and reflection for parents and friends of gay and lesbian persons at St. John Vianney Church in Walnut Creek.

The documentary comes with a study guide which states that "the only real difference between heterosexuals and homosexuals is the gender of their mate". The guide promotes equal civil rights for homosexuals, including adoption and “gay marriage.”

“Sexologists,” says the guide, have shown that “human beings are orgasm seekers,” achieving orgasms “in a variety of ways.” Sexologists say humans “use sex for reproductive purposes; they also use sex and sexuality for pleasure,” “masturbation is a universal, healthy form of sexual expression,” “the brain is the largest sex organ,” and homosexuality “is as natural for homosexuals as heterosexuality is for heterosexuals.”

Golly gee. Talk about lowering human beings to the lowest common denominator. Are we humans are nothing more than swine looking for something to eat... looking for someplace to defecate... looking for our next orgasm... running from danger. No, that would be the French.

And let's not forget that this is a Catholic bishop who is officially authorizing this little get together.

I wonder what the e-mail address is for the Diocese of Oakland's Gay outreach ministry? Possibly OaklandHeresy@org.gasm

Hello Cave People,

Your blog was recommended to me by paramedic girl, who knew that I would disagree with lots that you have to say. And of course she was right, I am (gasp) somewhat liberal, particuarly with regard to finding out a way to better incorporate homosexuals into the faith, and away from promiscuity. I'm sure you at least agree with that goal just as you would for drunks and wife beaters and their respective temptations?

In any event, that's not really why I am writing, as I don't expect Cave folks to change their minds about much when I don't even have any charcoal to write on the cave walls with. Actually I am writing wondering if we might have anything in common with regard to my St. Joseph Defender of the Faith thing.

Here's my post on the topic, I would like to hear the Cave-Assessment of the idea.

Pray, Pray, Pray!

How long will our society continue to grieve the Holy Spirit? We are creatures made by God, even the animals don’t seek continual orgasms! We are not mere animals--God choose us as His children–how we have distorted our gifts. Check out Spirit Daily today, BBC to broadcast gay Mass. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah–how much more evil are we today?--pray, pray, pray!

I was right; after seeing homosexuals on TV for the first time, I thought "pretty soon, they'll want rights."

That's a bit surprising, as the Bishop of Oakland is (was?) a most excellent Catholic, at least when he was running the Seminary in Detroit.

OTOH, sometimes Bishops are not, ah, fully-briefed on Diocesan goings-on.

Anyone who would show this film/porno is trying to justify some of the things they are participating in as well...

Well, actually god created some pretty slutty primates.

We're caled to overcome the passions with the rational as guided by the Holy Spirit. Both heterosxual and homosexual persons are called to do so.

WC,
Please don't lump the two into the same category. One is a normal desire, the other abnormal. Some may even say it's intrinsically evil.

BTW, you may have not realized that you spelled God with a small case "G".

Sorry, I'm a stickler about that sort of thing!

Male and Female He created them. God calls sodomy an "abomination." For same sex coupling to be "normal" it'd have to not involve inserting into feces and it MUST be demonstrated in the order of creation, that little book called "Genesis." Sodomite proponents have never been able to do that.

Coddling folks with SSAD and lying to them with some "Spirit of V2" maudlin drivel doesn't work. The Word of God to Ezekiel (33:8,9) is illustrative:

"If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths. But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself."

I would just like to point out that from a biological perspective every single mammal is an orgasm seeker. Reproduction being a definition of a living creature, and a major motor of all living creation as well.

Check out this video on the nuerology of love:

http://reform-catholic.blogspot.com/2007/05/biology-of-love.html

Frankly, I think it fits hand in glove with article 6 of the catechism with respect to how to live a healthy life. But I also think that it invokes some charity towards persons with same-sex attractions; what they suffer through, and how they could get all of these intense neurological signals for the same gender. This pooh bear thinks we ought to tolerate monogamous unions of some kind in light of that data.

WC,
No chance we can rise above the lower mammals?

BTW, what type of "monogamous unions" do you think The Church should tolerate (accept)?

Honestly I think actual gay catholics ought to decide with the help of the vatican. Folks like those in Courage that are leading celibate lives. I think we heterosexuals should stay out of it and pray for them. But if I had to pick, think, think, think...

Adelphopoeisis. Just like the early church used to practice. It should strive for celibate friendship. The church should not, at this time, endorse homosexual sex. Just a celibate, monogamous, union for life.

If they should fall, as humans often do, they would fall in a monogamous way. A friend, if you will, with whom to try to achieve chastity, and with whom to share a life.

OK, my pooh bear crash helmet is on, ready for your rotten-tomatoe firing AK.

Now you're contradicting yourself.

First you state "I would just like to point out that from a biological perspective every single mammal is an orgasm seeker. Reproduction being a definition of a living creature, and a major motor of all living creation as well."

But then we're all told "Just a celibate, monogamous, union for life [for homosexuals]."

Now here we have an individulal; a member of the human race. In this specific... a homosexual. And who you have generically categorized all humans as "orgasm seekers".

But these very same homosexual "orgasm seekers" are suppose to live in some sort of asexual "friendly" monogamous relationship for life?

Your credibility is wearing pretty thin, WC.

Do you realize that what you just described was an advocacy of a(albeit asexual) homosexual union?

WC, you're advocating what The Church has already deemed sinful. There's no wiggle room. No room for "dissent". No room for verbal gymnastics. Homosexual unions are sinful, period. And anyone who advocates such is comitting the sin of commission.

Please don't attempt some snappy verbal tap-dance trying to defend your position. It simply won't be tolerated on my blog.

Your a guest here. Please conduct yourself as such.

I was pointing out a biological fact, that all animals are orgasm seekers, poking a bit of fun at the title of the post, not making an ethical argument relating to anamalism. Lighten up.

-Please show me where the church has defined homosexual acts infallibly to be a sin. I granted you a point for demanding a reference from me on priestly marriage, now let's see you do the same to demonstrate that article 6 of the catechism is infallible.

-I have not declared solemnly just yet exactly what I think about gay unions. I was for them, now I am having some doubts. Those doubts stem from the Lexington situation I posted earlier (to which you did not respond). Those doubts also stem from the lack of a credible LGBT organization that demands monogamy from its adherents. The doubts of gay union also stem from the credibility of Courage, which seems to be a fine organization.

-I am not reassured, however, by loud mouths who make bigoted statements abotu gays in defiance of the catechism. And, I make no claim to not be in Dissent. I realize I am in dissent.

It's called The New Testament. You have heard of it, haven't you?

I noticed that you haven't said much about you contradicting yourself either.

But anyhow, I asked you once (nicely, I might add) that I wouldn't allow you to come onto this blog and espouse and endore sin.

You've had your one and only strike. You're a guest here. Conduct yourself accordingly.

OK, I had to delete your comment, WC. I asked you not one, but twice (nicely both times, I might add) for you to cease from endorsing the sin of homosexual sex.

Much like your theology, you seem to think that you make the rules around here. Not so.

In this Caveocracy, I'm the Supreme Pontiff, not you.

As I've stated more than once, you are a guest here. Please conduct yourself accordingly. With that said, the privlige of you posting on this thread has ceased.

Feel free to post on all the other threads on my blog. But know this, when I notify you that you're coming dangerously close to (if not openly endorsing) sin, I suggest you proceed with discretion.

To be perfectly honest, I enjoy dissecting your arguments. Just don't push it.

Hugs and kisses all around,
VSC

The new testament is not an infallible, ex-cathedra statement of the magisterium.

6:56 PM
Blogger Kevin Whiteman said...

Anon,
You left out that the vast majority of The Magesterium is based upon the New Testament.

You also failed to state that there are many teachings in Catholicism that don't need an Ex Cathedra statement, becasue they're self-evident. Things like The Trinity or Purgatory or The Communion of Saints... or that acting upon homosexual desires are sinful.

Get it?

Just to let you know Anon from Mass., Here's something that took me about 2 minutes to find.

http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df75se.htm

Persona Humana
Declaration on Certain Questions Concerning Sexual Ethics
Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith
December 29, 1975

VIII

At the present time there are those who, basing themselves on observations in the psychological order, have begun to judge indulgently, and even to excuse completely, homosexual relations between certain people. This they do in opposition to the constant teaching of the Magisterium and to the moral sense of the Christian people.

And this is a port-Vatican II declaration. Do you REALLY want me to dig even further into the 2,000 year history of The Church?

Nahhh... we both know what I'll find. And you won't like it.
