On This 5th Anniversary
Does the war in Iraq have any connection to the Global War on Terrorism?
Despite less armor than other American ground forces, the Marines were among the first to fight their way into Baghdad. And when intelligence indicated that foreign troops were coming to the aid of Iraqi diehards, Marine Brig. Gen. John Kelly stated (in typical Marine Corps fashion), "we want all Jihad fighters to come here. That way we can kill them all before they get bus tickets to New York City."
In other words, we take the fight to the enemy. We don't let them dictate to us the choice of battlefield. If the enemy wants to come to Iraq, then as General Kelly said, fine... that's where we'll kill them.
It really is as simple as that.

1 Comments:
This is going to be a very long war. As with every other war against this particular enemy, the Rosary and some hard-ass troops will be the main weapons.
