I'm not smart enough to make this stuff up
OK to join Communists, Vietnamese Bishop tells young faithful. A Vietnamese bishop has told a gathering of 60,000 young people that they have the right to join the Communist Party provided their faith is not threatened. Double-Speak Of The Year award winner. Here's a new one for the inculturati... the Viet-Cong Mass. Can I be the Minister of Punji-Sticks?
Hindu “Mass” Sparks Violent Altercation in Toronto Churchyard. Father D’Sa intoned the words “Our Father” four times. The response each time was the mantra “Hare Krishna”; towards the end of the prayer, the mantra was repeated over and over. If this is the "Springtime of The Church", I'd hate to see winter.
RC parish welcomes "womenpriest" St. Joan of Arc parish of Minneapolis MN is sponsoring a “Eucharist Celebration” offered by Regina Nicolosi – one of six women who in June of this year claim – contrary to church doctrine - to have received sacramental ordination in the Roman Catholic Church. In other news from St. Joan of Arc parish, a retreat for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender members of the congregation is being planned. And let's not forget that this particular parish is officially part of the Diocese of Minneapolis. Gee, I wonder why they haven't been shut-down yet? Hmmm.....

OUTRAGEOUS!
Its bad enough when laypeople declare that its ok to be a commie and a Catholic, but its infuriating to hear a BISHOP making that statement.
Whatever happened to you cannot serve both God and Mammon?
'RC parish welcomes "womenpriest"'
How is this even possible?
God help us
Sleepy,
You're missing the point. No one is talking about seperation of church & state, here.
Just a gentle nudge.... here is a case of a so-called "Catholic" telling Catholic youth that they can join the Communist Party. I suggest you read up some on Cardinal Kung and Cardinal Mindszenty
We need some new Bishops...pronto
Sleepy,
You are missing the point. By definition, Catholicism and communism are incompatable.
My it's very nature, communism "interferes" with Catholicism.
Like I posted earlier, just ask Cardinals Kung and Mindszenty
....but, communism does not have to interfere with one's practice of the Catholic Faith.
By definition, it does. Comunism denies the existence of God. And do I reallyhave to post countless Church teachings against totalitarianism/communim?
I would agree that historically speaking, communist governments have interfered in Church business.
Democratic governments have also interfered in Church business. But it does not have to be that way.
That is a very relativistic comment. What was it the pope said about the "dictatorship of relativism"?
PS: I am not a communist.
But you defend comunism
there is relativism within the Catholic Church. The Pope talks the talk, but from what I've seen he does not walk the walk.
To a certain degree, I agree with you, Bob.
