Lack Of Moral Courage 101
RepubliCrats strike again
Remember when all hell was raised over the Democratic Party pretty much abandoning Joe Lieberman in is run for re-election to the senate? Lieberman was as Democratic as a Democrat could be. Big government, pro-abortion, never met a tax increase he didn't like, etc, etc. The Dems loved this guy so much, he was their Veep candidate not all that long ago.
Oh, but the worm has turned. You see, Lieberman voted in favor of the war in Iraq. That was his death knell. Democrats abandoned him quicker than 1st Class passengers on the Titanic.
And individuals like Sean Hannity slammed the Democratic Party (rightly so) every chance he got. But where is Hannity when the Republicans do the very same, exact thing?
Case in point, Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. A stellar example of a RHINO* if there ever was one. Pro-abortion, anti-tax cut, only Republican to vote against the War in Iraq Resolution, Lincoln Chafee. He didn't even vote for Bush in the 2004 election. Some Republican, huh?
Well, Ol' Lincoln was up against a real life conservative, Steve Laffey, in the GOP primary. In all reality, if Laffey would have won the primary (he didn't), he more than likely would have lost the general election. But Republicans are suppose to stand for moral courage, even if it means losing a senate seat, right? Care to take a wild guess at what happened?
Sen. Elizabeth Dole, chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which along with the Republican National Committee backed Chafee with roughly $1 million.
Why you so quiet, Hannity?
