What A Bunch Of Clowns
...I'm not making this up

I knew it was only a matter of time. Now we have a Circus Mass. Was is celebrated at St. Bozo's? Personally, I love the vestments. Lions and tigers and bears (and clowns), oh my! I wonder what the liturgical significance of the vestments are... Silly Thursday of Holy Week?

By the way, is a High Circus Mass said on the trapeze? Is Holy Water shot out of a fake lapel flower? I wonder how many of their priests are sword swallowers?

Maybe I should leave that last one alone... ya think?

Holy crud. At first as I was reading the link I thought this has got to a parody, oh please let it be a joke. They wouldn't really call it circus mass... seriously.

Well Mahony can supply the trapeze artists and costume dancers, and any other church can supply the music.

Sad.

There is no respect for the Mass any longer ... which makes me believe that among our priests, there's also no faith any longer.

I can't believe they'd do this sort of thing if they really believed there was an Omnipotent Being Sacrificing Himself on the altar ...

I fear these fellows are celebrating without a net.

Notice how old those priests are? The younger priests usually don't do that sort of thing...

I have heard that priestly vessements are expensive to. Like some churches simply don't have those pink vessments (as were to be worn last Sunday) because they can't afford them. Then these guys go out and get this crap. Now I know it looks cheap and trashy, however I bet they paid top dollar with collection plate money for those monstrosities out of some fancy liturgical catalogue.

As soon as I saw the picture all I could do was hope those guys were Anglican.

The real trick comes at the end when the Ringmaster sends these clowns falling into a pit of fire - where they burn without being consumed.

You know, the sentiment is right (celebrate a special Mass for people who have done a lot to help the parish), but the road to Hell...etc.

Why, oh, why did they think that dressing up like that was okay? I mean, if you are having a special Mass, then DRESS APPROPRIATELY!

Our parish is one of those that doesn't have the money for the gold or pink vestments, and these guys look like they are wearing curtains for goodness' sake!!!*heavy sigh*

At least it wasn't in the Orlando Diocese...those vestments are just embarassing...
