Bishop Of Dublin Defies Rome On Sodomites, Still Kicks Seminarians Out.
But you'll never guess why THESE GUYS were kicked out!

Obviously believing that a good defense is a good offense, the Archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, has essentially told Pope Benedict to go screw himself, and has publicly proclaimed that "gays should not be excluded from priesthood", even though the leaked document (that everyone and their brother already has) hasn't even been released yet. But in an amazing display of verbal gymnastics (and moral cowardice), the Archbishop said that he "could not respond fully to questions on that issue since the Vatican document had not yet been officially released".

An utterly pathetic and disgusting example of what has happened to the land that once was the Cradle of the Priesthood.

But what is absolutely stunning, is the fact that the Archdiocese of Dublin will ordain zero priests this year. That's the first time ever in the history of this diocese that this has happened. Centuries upon centuries... and this is the first time... EVER!

But in all fairness to the good Archbishop, he recently did expel 6.7% of the entire student body at Maynooth Seminary (the only functioning seminary in the whole country). Time to clean up that seminary from the heretical scum and rabble that somehow managed to slip through the cracks. That's right... Archbishop Martin kicked some butt and took out the trash, baby!!!

What was the transgression for which this punishment was threatened? What would cause you to write off a candidate for the priesthood? Especially in a nation that is desperate for priests?

Brace yourself. Cover the eyes of the children. OK, ready? They were kneeling for Communion.

Tip O' the hat to Diogenes

So I just want to make sure I have this right... if you drop to your knees and kneel down for one certain thing, you can join that gay band of Martin's Merry Men... but if you drop to your knees and kneel down for another certain something, you get kicked out. Ahhhh... I see now.

I always thought Catholicsm was very strong in Ireland but it won't continue to be if the Bishop stays in "self destruct mode."

By the way thanks for the Marine JAG info!

Just found your blog, from a comment at Mr. Lugari's blog. Since I can't imagine there are two fellows going by the name "Caveman Catholic", I have some words of thanks to offer you.

A long time ago, when I was seeking answers, I found your old website. From there I somehow managed to find another website, "VADEMECUM". The fellow who runs that site sent me a copy of Fr. Hardon's catechism and told me about the FSSP parish here in my area. I went, and was eventually received into the Church on June 10, 2004.

So thanks for making that webpage and keeping it up, at least until I could find it. I daresay I have no idea who I'd be without it.

Well, the nice thing about all this is eventually they will have to get priests from somewhere else - most likely, somewhere where they did kneel at communion. Those are the only places still ordaining mass numbers of seminarians. Of course, I think some leprechauns are also on the list for future "parish administrator" positions. They told the Bishop, "Try me lucky charms!" - by which they meant heretical teachings.

Dearest Franklin,
I honestly don't know what to say. I'm stunned and sincerely happy for. Anything else I could say from here on would just be trite.

So suffice it to say, may God bless you and yours, my dearest brother in Christ.

Ireland used to be a very Catholic country, just as was Poland and most of the nations of southern Europe. Thanks to Vatican II, the Catholic states of Christendom were encouraged *by the Church* to stop defending the faith by removing reference to Catholicism from their countries' constitutions.

What we are witnessing is the logical consequences of the corruption of the Faith unleashed by Vatican II. This Pope will not stop the slide short of a miracle because he, himself, is a modernist despite any smoke-and-mirrors theatrics to the contrary.

We can only pray that the Holy Ghost inspires the Holy Father to preach and teach the traditional Faith to the exclusion of all others.

Yes, slowly but surely, Ireland has been going the way of the United States. On B16, give him some time.

Joe D,

I hope you are right about the Pope. So far, I'm not impressed. All his "strong statements" and "firm stands" dont amount to a hill of beans unless they are based on the traditional Faith.

In other words, we dont need a Pope who is going to take a stand in defence of the post-Vatican II neo-protestant faith. We need a pope who will stand for tradition.

The sad thing about it all is that there have been about 40 years or so since Vatican II, which means that at least two generations of "Catholic" clergy and laymen have been raised in this nonsense and have been taught error. Maybe it is a good thing that the Pope is as old as he is. A younger Pope would probably not know the difference unless he came out of the Society of St. Pius X.

Still, the Council was to a large extent a creation of this Pope. He has invested an enormous amount of effort and prestige into "making it work". So, it will be interesting to see what he will do next and if he will act in a truly Catholic manner.

It is not only in Seminaries in Ireland that you find yourself perhaps on your own kneeling for the consecration at Mass and perhaps not kneeling at all as a result. Some religious orders now don't have kneelers at all in their Oratories or Chapels. Many once beautiful Churches have now been stripped of magnificent altars to be replaced by simple wooden tables. Altar rails have been taken out and statues removed to be replaced by strange meaningless pictures. It is bizarre why this takes place. We need a new Seminary or an improvement in the one we have to return to traditional Catholic teaching. We also need to open our doors to new orders and communities which are loyal to the teachings of the Church.
