The Fruits Of The Novus Ordo
When are Catholics going to say "ENOUGH!"?

What a sad little story from CatholicCulture.org. Here's some of it; (Emphasis mine)
Retired Australian bishop calls for ecumenical to change teachings on sexuality
A retired Australian bishop has said that the sex-abuse scandal cannot be resolved unless the Church holds an ecumenical council and amends traditional Christian moral teaching.
Bishop Geoffrey Robinson told The Australian that the Church should reconsider teachings on sexuality and on the ordination of women. He also suggested that some of the priests who molested boys were not aware that they were violating their commitment to chastity. Unaware? You mean they didn't realize something was wrong when the little boys were screaming from being anally raped? Ohhhhh.... I get it now.
Folks, there are some evil, evil little men who have polluted our Church. And besides these children being violated... our Holy Mother the Church is being raped on a daily basis by men exactly like Geoffrey Robinson.
And we don't have to take it anymore.
Find a Traditional Latin Mass parish (even one that offers a TLM only occasionally, if that's all there is), and attend there exclusively.
The Novus Ordo Misssae is a bad tree that produces bad fruit. I've tried for decades to "find the beauty" of the Novus Ordo. Sorry. No can do.
By it's very nature, it's ambiguous, changeable and watered down. Oh... and it begets individuals like Geoffrey Robinson.

"The Fruits of the Novus Ordo" -- Great post, Caveman! Pun intended?
Let me get this straight. Celibacy, male priesthood, sexual morality is a matter of Church policy, not infallible doctrine witnessing to the Truth. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
IMHO, the retired bishop is a heretic, and this is the least of his problems.
I am 34 years old an attended my first Latin Mass about a month ago. All I have to say is WOW! The Latin Mass needs to be brought back to every parish. If only a small fraction of regular attending Catholics believe in the Real Presence, it's because of the lack of reverence and sense of sacrifice in the new mass. The deacon at our church mouths the words for the consecration and doxology. When I complained about it to our parish priest, he basically said he didn't want to hurt the deacon's feelings. That was the last straw for me.
Cavey,
That makes reason number 5,687 why I am associated with the Society of St. Pius X and ONLY attend the Traditional Latin Mass, be it SSPX, FSSP, ICKSP, et al.
The Novus Ordo should be sucked down the drain of Modernism, as should most of our bishops!

We have a TLM here in Orkney but it's on another island. I've been trying to convince my husband to go... but it's literally an all day trip with ferries etc. and with three small kids and a farm it's impossible to go.
Caveman,
It does seem as though you focus way too much on the Novus Ordo. You seem to forget that the homobishops of the 60s and 70s that pulled the tabernacle from the center of the Church, started taking the Host by hand years before the "indult", turned many of the schools into homo recruitment camps, and backed the Kennedy Klan with all their liberal nonsense, grew up doing the traditional latin mass. You have got to stop blaming the N.O. for what sin and idiocy like those in pius x brought about. You are smarter than that. It wasn't Vat. II either. It is sin, lack of confession, sin, and lack of confession. The "preVat.II" idiots make me almost as mad as the homobishops.
DU,
Being evil is easy. When the restaints of sanctity and holiness are lifted, even the best go bad. The NO was a catalyst for embracing the 'I'm OK, you're OK' softheaded theology that is the Novus Ordo.
I honestly must ask... what was the reason for instituting such a beast in the first place? Why did it even have to be brought about?
The fruits of the Novus Ordo answer that question. In spades.
I agree with the previous poster who said (as so many of us keep saying), "It's not the Novus Ordo's fault that these people are sinning." And it's NOT. Most of the people in my world, in my family, did not grow up with TLMs...yet somehow they manage to be faithful Catholics...even if most of them feel uncomfortable and lost when they hear Latin. That's not to say they shouldn't learn about it, nor is it to say that the idea behind going to church is to be "comfortable"--but give it a break, guys. It's not the Mass's fault, in whatever form, that these people are unrepentant sinners. It's the fault of the...wait for it...UNREPENTANT SINNER himself. Novus Ordo didn't "make" anyone dissent or disobey. Their own enlightened and malformed "consciences" did that. And Novus Ordo isn't responsible for weak, ineffective teaching on sin and repentance from the pulpit. The ordained are. Period. End of sentence.
Yes, there have been abuses. But on the other hand, some of the greatest areas of solid vocation growth, of good, holy priests and nuns, and of solid Catholic teaching in general are in places like Africa, and India, where they not only don't do much Latin...they do all KINDS of things in Masses that TLMers would be horrified at. And yet they preach Christ, and Him crucified...and whaddya know, the young men and women get formed rather well in the Faith anyway...
Yes, the TLM is beautiful. I grew up with it. But until our priests get off their duffs and instruct the faithful now in the pews--most of whom have never heard nor seen a TLM--about the tremendous beauty, meaning, and piety involved in the Church's ancient liturgy, no one's helping their cause any by slamming those people as being stupid, ignorant, lazy, or unformed. And none of that is going to change with you all engaging in self-congratulation at their expense, either.
If you're not part of the solution, quit slamming those of us who are not part of the problem.
JB
Janny,
The numbers speak for themselves.
