He's Lucky The Pope Didn't Deck Him
Father Richtsteig nails it
Fr. Erik Richtsteig over at Orthometer points out how un-Catholic some Catholics have become. Or as Father puts it -- "How The Heck Was This Guy Made A Bishop?"
From CatholicCulture.org;Irish bishop 'embarassed' by kissing the Pope's ring.
An Irish bishop has caused a stir by saying that he was uncomfortable kissing the Pope's ring when the Irish bishops met with the Pontiff in February. Bishop Bill Murphy of Kerry said he was "rather embarrassed" when other Irish bishops kissed the Pope's ring rather than shaking his hand, but he followed suit. The gesture, he said, is "out of touch with modern thinking." Unlike having sex with other males?

I wonder if the good Bishop is embarrassed by his own ring? I'm sure he wears one, and I'm sure it's a doozy.
If he has problems with putting people into authority positions, then why does he continue to serve as Bishop?
Perfect! Another Bishop with an authority figure complex. Good luck good people of county Kerry!
His...cough...spit...His Grace is a fool. If he want's to keep in line with "modern thinking," then he should resign from the episcopate. After all, he belongs to an organization that is 2,000 years old; and headed by a bunch of old men. Not only is that "out of touch with modern thinking," it's " rather embarrassing," too.
Oy!
Perhaps he's a Church of Ireland Bishop in disguise.
I see a need for a wee bit or rather a large bit of humility on this Bishop's part!
It probably takes a more humble man than this silly Bishop to be elected Pope. Our Holy Father (as Jesus did) washes the feet of 12 Priests on Holy Thursday.
For any Catholic to be able to kiss the ring of St. Peter's successor is an honor not realized by most of us.
Viva Benedetto!
The acquisition of wee or large bits of humility is often helped along by the application of a shillelagh . . .
Hey, Old Bob, Isn't it fortunate that I just happen to have a shillelagh? Anyone want to borrow it?
What a narrowback!
