Look at their faces. Jones would never win a war ... I remember Battle Cry by Leon Uris, where the two Marine lieutenants are polar opposites, Bryce the candy ass powder puff derby type and the other guy whose huevos stop the bullets from hitting his grunts. That is the look on the faces of both Pace and Conway. I would drag my knees on every pushup for Jones but I'd do 'em right until ordered to stop for the other two.
By the look on his face, it is hard to tell whether General Jones does or does not own a Turbo Encabulator.
I wonder if he is after one last star or one more medal on his uniform. I have always had respect for the Corps-ever since I read a biography of Chesty Puller and all those great books by W.E.B. Griffith. Where are we going when the Marine Corps gives in to what is expedient and loses sight of what it has stood for throughout its glorious and storied history?

Sorry, it should have said, W.E.B. Griffin. Great author--knows the way to tell a good story over a lengthy series of books.
What is the penance for making fun of Gen. Jones?
