"Whose The Greatest Mom Of All?"
"Earth Mama!"

Silly me. I thought the Mother of God was the greatest mom of all. But not at Resurrection "Catholic"(?) School.

I especially appreciate the breathless quote from some 60's burn-out who finagled a job at Resurrection: "In order to be at peace in our world today, it has to include being at peace with our earth."

Anyone care to make a wager that most of these kids will abandon The Faith within the next ten years or less? Obviously, many of their teachers already have.

Helmet tip to Amy Proctor.

10 years, you're being optimistic, many of them have already bailed out. If they ever knew what it really was in the 1st place. Which based on some of the comments is what I really suspect.

PS Any bets those oldies were nuns?

This school is probably conservative by todays standards. I mean, they still call it a school and not 'Educational Center' or some other creative moniker surely created by some layperson who has more say in things then they should.

I'm sure they squeeze in that your child will be learning in a 'Catholic-Christian' environment.

The problem is they have taken a natural order of the human heart (conserving and caring for creation) and turned it into a worship of all things environmental.

Placing this much emphasis on the issue allows it to subvert the worship of God, and the importance of care for ones soul.

Did anyone notice how closely that one woman's outfit resembled clerics?

Simplex Vir said it best on distorting a natural good and making it a religion all its own.

I really wish that people understand that when catechesis is orthodox and hard-hitting and no-holds-barred, people - especially youth - are more likely to stay.

They're not going to stay if what they hear in religious ed (or at Mass) is not distinguishable from what they hear on "Oprah."

Mary may be the greatest mother of all time, but only I have defended you sacred honor against the feminist loons at Inside Catholic.

Why these ladies don't get it that a man who's tough to the world is also the most tender with his woman is something I'll never get.

What kind of woman wants a man to "walk beside me and be my equal"? Never! Be a man, stand before me and defend me. Be a man, grow a pair, and protect me from all the evils of this world. Be a man and guide me in the way I should go. Be a man worthy of my love and fidelity. Be my man and make me feel like a woman!

Yes, my dear cavemen, I get it. Sadly, for them, they don't. I could almost cry for them for the things they are missing. They are missing out on being women.

Because they won't post it, here's what I said:

As it was my non-womberiffic post to which the Caveman was referring, I believe I'm the only girl here who truly has a dog in this fight. Therefore, please let me share my own thoughts on the Catholic Caveman's less than "PC" post.

I loved it. I think it was a great commentary not only on what I had to say, but on the tendency we ladies have to share a bit more than might be considered lady-like about our own reproductive happenings. Did he say it in a less than delicate way? Yes. I thought it was humorous. Civilized people often use humor to make point about a sensitive subject.

Remember humor? Remember a time when a man was allowed to make a joke and didn't have to first consider it from every angle for possible offense before he uttered the first syllable?

Is it possible that his point is "thank goodness for a post that celebrates the beauty of a mother with her newborn child and doesn't subject the reader to a blow by blow graphic description of the birth"? I've read those posts, and frankly I don't want to consider the "beauty of the insides" of another woman's womb. Some things are private and should be kept that way, thank you.

As for the Cavemen...They're men. They are up front about the fact that they run over with testosterone, and I thank God for it!!!! I like men who are men. I like men who are brash, and gruff and a bit rough around the edges. These are MEN. Their external roughness hides the secret that all real women know, underneath the outer shell is a lover of women. Somehow in your rush to be offended, you have missed the point.

I don't know in what kind of world you all wish to live, but let me share a secret with you that I have learned from my sweet husband after 16 years and 8 children (2saints and 6 in training). A world where men are allowed to be men and a loved for it is bound to be a pretty good place for a woman to live. A place where men are expected to be women is no place I want to be.

Silly, the Mom is the Bomb!

And this real Catholic woman couldn't agree more. Luckily, I married a caveman, and now he's Catholic, too!

And yes, Mary is the only Mother anyone will ever need, after his own, of course. ;)
