Didn't I Warn Bishop Cordileone?
You knew it was only a matter of time
Don't you love it when things fall into place? Not all that long ago I was somewhat chastised for using the word "faggot". I've also warned the new bishop of the Diocese of Oakland, California, His Excellency Bishop Salvatore Cordileone would be back-stabbed by his own people.

Queering the Rosary
“Relational Mysteries” Prayed at Berkeley’s Newman Center
When Oakland’s Bishop Salvatore Cordileone visited Berkeley’s Jesuit School of Theology at the Graduate Theological Union on September 22, he was greeted by approximately 20 protestors. The protestors were seminarians and faculty from the theological union’s schools. The bishop was there to commemorate the merging of the Jesuit school with Santa Clara University. The protesters were there to oppose Bishop Cordileone for his defense of natural marriage.
According to the QueerToday.com website, protestors included Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker, president of the Starr King (Unitarian Universalist) School of Ministry; Rev. Roland Stringfellow, the organizer of the GTU’s Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies; Rev. Sanna Reinholtzen, a Lutheran minister; and graduate student Eugene McMullan, apparently a Catholic.
According to the Bay Area Reporter, Mr. McMullan is the founder of Catholics for Marriage Equality. There is more than one organization with that name; presumably they mean the one in the bay area. On August 13, the BAR published an article called “Pray for Equality Outside St. Mary‘s.“ The article began: “The recently formed Catholics for Marriage Equality will be holding a prayer vigil outside St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco Saturday, August 15, which is the feast of the Assumption. Organizer Eugene McMullan noted that on the Assumption, the Catholic Church celebrates Mary being bodily raised into heaven. Catholics for Marriage Equality will be praying the rosary while contemplating the Relational Mysteries.”
Many Catholics, even devout ones, may be excused for never having heard of the “Relational Mysteries.” That’s because they exist nowhere except on the agenda of homosexual activists. According to the June 2009 issue of “Impact“, the international newsletter of the Metropolitan Community Church, under the heading “Queering the Rosary,” the “relational mysteries” were devised by Mr. McMullan.
A crystal-clear description of purpose of the “Relational Mysteries” was given in the online calendar of the New Spirit/MCC Church in Berkeley. The entry was for an event held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, and reads: “GTU doctoral student Eugene McMullan and Reverend Jim Mitulski will lead a two part class on "Praying the Queer Rosary," based on stories from the bible which depict Queer Families or Relationships. The class will include a brief history of the rosary, introduction to Catholic devotions, sharing of stories, and praying together.”
The MCC is an overtly homosexual activist church; that was its founding purpose, so it is not surprising to see such an event held there. Unfortunately, the homosexual activists have managed to introduce the “relational mysteries” into at least one Catholic parish as well. The September 13 web bulletin of Berkeley’s Newman Hall - Holy Spirit Parish announces: “Praying the Rosary in solidarity with LGBT Catholics. Join us Sept. 17, 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the lounge as we explore the Relational Mysteries: Fidelity—Ruth's pledge to Naomi (Ruth 1:16-18); Grief—The parting of David and Jonathan (I Sam 20:35-42); Intercession—Esther intercedes for her people (Est 4:9-5:2); Restoration—the raising of Lazarus (John 11:38-44); and Discipleship—the two encounter Christ on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). The group will be co-facilitated by Mike Campos and Eugene McMullan, Ph.D. students at the Graduate Theological Union.”
One may ask just how these biblical events fit in to the homoactivist agenda. The process is defined as “eisegesis” (the interpretation of a text by reading into it one's own ideas) as opposed to “exegesis,” and it seems to be an ecumenical practice among religious homosexual activists. For example, the relationship between Ruth and Naomi will be interpreted as a lesbian one. The relationship between Saul, David, and Jonathon was interpreted by Episcopal Reverend John Kirkley, one of the nominees to be the next Episcopal suffragan bishop of Los Angeles, as a “Biblical Love Triangle.” The raising of Lazarus was the subject of a homily at San Francisco’s Most Holy Redeemer by Fr. Donal Godfrey, the executive director of University Ministry at USF. He titled his homily “The Call to Come Out.”
If God doesn't do something soon to diocese such as this, He'll owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.

I am puking as I read this. Geez.
I believe the word is, "ANATHEMA!"
No way it's gonna be Rosary beads that they'll be holding. These relational antics are not relational at all. Same damn thing one finds when one reads the Scripture account of Sodom and Gomorrah ... what these depraved perverts are doing is anti-relational conspiratorial aggression. The whole lot of them (no pun intended) should be excommunicated, and the rest should be kept off Church property with no trespassing orders.
Okay, I'll play along...
Ruth and Naomi: May we also have the strength to love our parents and elders and to follow where they lead.
David and Jonathan: May we also have the strength to part fairly from our friends at the appointed time.
Esther: May we also be moved to intercede for those who keep God's word faithfully.
Lazarus: May our friends who are stronger in spirit have the courage to plead the Lord to raise us from our death and sickness.
Road to Emmaus: May we recognize the risen Christ and listen to what He tells us.
(And please correct me/jump in if I got any of the references wrong.)
Uh... I'm not usually one to get caught up in looks but I just can't help but finally say this after biting my tongue for years:
Ever notice that the more Liberal people become the more they dress in the most unbecoming, clownish, childish manner possible? Remember Scary Hairy Woodstock Fairy? Even her facial expression was so rediculous I couldn't bring myself to take her seriously. I know. I know. "You're wrong for judging by her (his?) looks!" etc, etc, etc...
I don't think so. After a while there comes a point where if yer going to dress and behave like an ass then you can come to expect to be treated like one!!
I'm telling ya... there's a lot to be said about "What's on the inside is reflected on the outside." I know we're not supposed to "judge a book by its cover" but that is getting more and more difficult to do in a world full of Liberals who dress and behave like children that never grew up.
I know. I know. I'm being shallow and a meanie. But seriously!!!! We're supposed to treat crowds like this as intelligent adults worthy of any amount of mature consideration??? When they look like total dorks??? Sorry. It's just not happening on my end. I can't listen to what people have to say when they are telling me loud and clear through their dress and mannerisms that they think of *themselves* as mere children...
Okie dokie, done ranting.
Perhaps it is time for the good bishop to get rid of a few seminarians and at least one graduate student. It would be better to have no one to say Mass than to have the people led astray by people such as these.
Well, at least they are praying. It's a step up from desecrating our beloved Savior. From prayer can come enlightenment. We can only hope.
And while they pray, they aren't putting their penises anywhere untoward. I'm just sayin'.
Coffee Catholic,
some things are either largely or entirely beyond a person's control: the color of their skin, hair, and eyes; the general shape of their skull and skeleton; etc. etc. etc. It is wrong to judge a person based on those things.
But there are other things about a person, that you can see, that they have chosen. These include most matters tonsorial and sartorial, as well as whether one maintains a neat or slovenly appearance. Typically, when a person takes on the accoutrements of a given culture, it is because they wish to be associated with that culture. When one chooses to wear a burnoose, a turban, a biretta, a fedora, or a baseball cap bearing a blasphemous message, one communicates something about one's self.
TCN: Agreed. We may hope and pray that they spend part of their prayer time listening. Far too many people only wish to serve God in the role of an advisor.
Very true, oh Ye Of The Long Name.
I'll admit it though... I don't exactly look striking in my modest maternity wear. I'd probably fit in with those Liberal yokels. But I'm not **trying** to look like a loon!! There just comes a point in pregnancy where you have to wear a tent.
Cordoleone is not a liberal bishop as far as I can tell. I think he just inherited a hotbed (no pun intended) diocese. He celebrates the TLM personally and promoted it in San Diego before being appointed as Bishop of Oakland. That is what I have observed from various traditional blogs.
Bishop Cordileone has proved himself to be a great bishop! He is one of the greatest bishops that we have had in a while! He is one of the best besides Bishop Cummins. Bishop Salvatore is just soo awesome...the advocacy he has for TLM, and whatnot is awesome and I'm with him on his various views! He's just so good, he works so hard at what he does and he's truly what his last name means A heart of a lion. :)
