Coming Down Hard...
Very hard
Well, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Raleigh, Monsignor David Brockman, payed a little visit to North Carolina's favorite break away wannabe-Banana Republic... 'er, I mean St. Andrew's Parish in Red Springs. Hey vatos, secession's been out of vogue for over a hundred years. Give it a rest.
And it looks like His Excellency doesn't have a lot of patience for those who criminally trespass and physically threaten a priest. St. Andrew's Parish has been shut down. For the time being, at least.
I've also come to understand that when His Excellency makes the decision (NOT the mob) to re-open the doors of St. Andrew's, he will personally celebrate the first Mass. In the Marine Corps, that's what we called Leadership By Example.
If the thugs who use to (and in some cases, those who still) think they can punk-out the bishop, they'd better guess again. That just ain't gonna happen. Period. Take it for what it's worth.
And somewhat along the same lines, I've heard and read that the Knights of Columbus making a lot of noise in regards to being "In Solidarity With Our Priests". Really? Why hasn't there been a peep out of the KofC North Carolina State Council?
There's no doubt in my military mind that certain stand-up-kinda-guy members of The KofC (such as Paul the Regular Guy and Simplex Vir) are asking the very same question.

Your blog is a breath of fresh air! Wish I'd found it sooner.
Thanks for helping us stay on top of this issue-- the FayObserver's laughable coverage wasn't satiating my curiosity over what was happening and how our wise Bishop was planning on handling it. Glad to hear that such a decision has been made.
Congratulations, parishioners of St Andrews: you've just become protestants. How does it feel?
Outstanding!
Leadership By Example
Bingo! Thanks for saying it, Cavey.
Barbie,
Thanks! And welcome to The Lair.
Wow! Thank you Your Excellency; it's about time.
If culture is soooo important to those "parishioners," they outta revert to some native, pre-Hispanic, human-sacrificing religion. After all, they "worship" at a church whose founder was a Jew! And we all know how they are. Man, those jerks probably don't know that Our Lord and Saviour was born and raised a Jew.
I can see a "prostest" like the one that took place at St. Andrews Parish happening in some tinpot LibTheo country. But here? In the good ole USofA? What?...Huh?.....Oh forgive me! I forgot about PCness and multiculturalism and all that other rot!
Maria,
Hold on to your hat. Something possibly very big is brewing. I'll post about it within the next day or two.
As someone who recently went through an e-mail debate with several KofC leaders in the DBQ area on what KofC members should or shouldn't do, I have my suspicions where they fall. & am not surprized at the silence, saddenned yes, surprized no.
FYI in the debate the only 1 who said that we shouldn't do anything political was the 1 person who is on the DBQ Co. Democratic Central Committee,
Cavemen have no fear, for Grand Knight is here! da, da da, duh! ( cape fluttering in the wind)I have sent out a letter to the State Deputy, and will keep you informed. here is a copy i posted:

I learned in the Army a long time ago not to get your hopes up, but somebody has to man up and speak out on such an injustice.
