No... Not Another Chick Post
Anything but
The Mom over at Shoved To Them has a very deceptive posting.
Admittedly, I thought this was just another chick post about the joys of squeezin' out little 'uns and colic... a celebratory gynothon chock fulla estrogen and baby vomit. Nary a mention of The 2d Amendment or beating someone to death with your bare hands.
I was willing to bet this post was going to be just womberrific. But for whatever reason, I kept reading. And am I glad I did.
The last three paragraphs are as heartfelt and deep as anything could ever be written.

the Pieta
Maybe Michelangelo got it wrong; then again, maybe not. I saw the Pieta in person at the Worlds Fair in Queens, NYC when I was in High School. A very moving experience.
I'm so glad that you liked it.
Holding our newest little guy has put the Blessed Mother very much at the forefront of my thoughts lately. I keep thinking of her holding her little guy and the joy that was hers and the heartbreak that was to come.

Having missed the first six months of my precious adopted son's life, I missed the early sniff-fest, but sure as the dawn, my first move when holding him the first time was straight for the head and a deep inhale.
Still doing it, 3 years later, even though it sometimes gives him the heebie-jeebies. I suspect I'll stop just about the time one or the other of us kicks the bucket.
That's MY boy, alright.
Ooooo... kinda sorta on topic:
(Been off line a while)
Guess what?? Did I tell you I'm preggo again? Well, I'm preggo with TWINS!!!
CC,
WOO-HOO!!!! Congrats! You and your hubbie working on your own Marine Infantry Squad? Just a few more to go, and you'll be there!
I'll be the only Catholic woman praying to God for a *break* after these two are born LOL! "Please, God, can you give me a year or two before the next batch????" I'm trashed and my teeth are rotting out of my head. I have to have another c-section. I'm so happy to be DOUBLE blessed but wow... three kids and two c-sections in 14 months. Is that a new record? LOL!!
God is so good!! Me and Erlend cried when we saw TWO babies on the ultra sound scan. Erlend said, "Two for the price of one!"
I've been praying that God please take one (or all!) of our children to the religious life. And if we have a son (or three?) then maybe He can snatch a priest or two from our ranks? :-) We won't complain!!! Even if all of our children become religious!!
I've always wanted to fill a pew at church. Well, our pews at this particular church happen to be small. If these twins are born healthy and alive then we'll fill one pew already!! (that was fast...)
Grats, Coffee Catholic!
My mom managed three kids, although there was 14 between each instead of between the first and the second two, but it is very nice for when you're growing up-- close enough that it's *fun* to play with your sister and brother.
