Ok, check out the "parish info" link on St. Mary's parish website: http://thestmaryparish.org/info_frame.htm
In the "Our Mission" section, Fr. Kus has identified his parish as follows: "The community of St. Mary’s is a vibrant and dynamic post-Vatican II parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh."
Did you get that? St. Mary's is a post-Vatican II parish! Now this explains everything! This is why Fr. Kus is so upset about the TLM coming to his parish. In Fr. Kus' mind, the TLM represents the pre-Vatican II religion, whereas Fr. Kus and his parishioners apparently ascribe to the POST-Vatican II religion.
Well I will at least say thank you to this priest for being so out in the open about who he is. Talk about the "hermeneutic of discontinuity." Someone notify the Holy Father, that hermeneutic is alive and well in Wilmington, North Carolina!!
I would of course go a bit further and say not only is it a matter of discontinuity, but it is a matter of diabolical disorientation. What was once good is now bad, and what was once bad is now good.
Ok, unless any new developments come my way this will be my last post on St. Mary's. I just had to share with everyone what I came across last night while perusing St. Mary's parish website.
I tell you what, though, I am really starting to look forward to bringing that "old time religion" back to the city of Wilmington, North Carolina and more specifically the "Catholic community" of St. Mary's. A taste of a little "pre-Vatican II religion" might do them a bit of good.

What a silly thing to put on a parish website. Aren't ALL parishes "post-Vatican II"? Give me a break.
Confireor,
Tell me how you really feel. I get the distict impression you're sugar-coating it.
And you want me to move to the Raleigh, NC area? No thanks! LOL
I can get this stuff right here without the hassle of relocation.
He should have said, perhaps, "a spirit of Vatican II" Church.
Maybe Fr better read what Papa Benedetto said in his latest encyclical where he made it clear that there is no such thing as Post-Vatican 2". That there was no break, etc. I see things like this & I want to scream.
Following what is said in their mission statement to its logical end, that parish has actually left the Catholic Church & is no longer a part of the Diocese.
