Wasn't the primary publicly stated justification given by Notre Dame for inviting Obama and honoring him with an honorary degree the need to engage and debate with those who disagree? Well if that was truly the motive, can someone tell me why that ideal would not apply to fellow faithful Catholics? Maybe because the answer to my question is in my question. Father Jenkins appears to be no different than any common heretic or apostate. Obama is not the problem, the FAITHFUL are the problem. The faithful are not to be engaged or permitted a platform or honored. They are to just shut up and accept Fr. Jenkins' authority. And if they don't then they must be dealt with.

Take the time to watch the below video. It is about twenty minutes long. At about minute 12 or 13 is when the arrests begin to be made. I for some reason was unable to download and upload, so here is a link to ustream:

If any of you once loved Notre Dame half as much as I have my entire life this video will make you cry. Especially the part where an elderly, eighty year old priest is treated like a criminal by the University of Notre Dame. If I did not watch this entire video with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it. How could this happen at the University of Our Lady???!!!!

Fr. Jenkins ought to be ashamed of himself. Sadly, we all know this awful priest is most likely quite smug and proud of himself. Never in my life have I ever seen a bigger sell out then Fr. Jenkins and the students and administrators of the University of Notre Dame.

I have no more use for this institution. Before today I might have considered turning on a game or two of my beloved Irish in the fall, but after watching this video I can honestly say that I will not be watching Notre Dame football on Saturday's anymore. I mean how could I? Notre Dame by its actions has effectively shunned the Catholic faith and they no longer deserve being identified as a Catholic institution. If you remove the Catholic aspect from Notre Dame what in the world is so darn special about the football team?

By the way, has anyone else noticed that Notre Dame began stinking in football right around the time that Notre Dame's apostasy really began to take root in the mid-90's?

as I commented on Cavey's last post regarding this, Fr. Jenkins is a creature of Notre Dame's Board of Trustees. In that light, none of the apostasy at Notre Dame is really surprising.

I don't know how ND's Trustees are selected. I've seen university trustees on the ballot in some states. If that's how ND's trustees get their jobs, the apostasy there is to be expected.

I watched about 15 minutes worth (the priests's arrest comes before that). And, yes, it did bring tears to my eyes to actually see how far we have fallen. Notre Dame of Akita, please pray for us.

Hi Everyone

On the 14th May 2009, was the annual National March for Life in Ottawa. Althought 10000 people showed up for thie event, the main stream media decided to totally ignore it...Why..becasue we are Prolife and are against abortion, euthanasia and homosexual marriage. These are the values which are esposed by the main stream media but they are abhorent to God.

Our new blog is to make the world aware that despite the fact that Canada is the only country in the world that allows abortions right up to the ninth month, the pro life movement is alive and for us the debate is not over.

Please do visit our web site to see the event in Ottawa

It is like living in an alternative universe; which is exactly what happens when institutions like ND, political parties, special interest groups, and individuals disregard the Magisterium of Mother Church. A sad parody of Catholic truth and reality which founders, capsizes, and finally sinks into the netherworld it so richly deserves. May sane hearts and minds pull ND back from this self-inflicted fate before it is too late.

After all, its all about dialogue according to the left, except when it is the side that they do not allow.

I have been a fan of ND for over 50 years. I use to go up to the campus and just walk around in amazment that so long ago a priest could start something like this. Now it is ruined forever as i will always see them hauling off that 80 year old priest simply for carrying a cross onto the campus defeneding clear non negoiatable church teaching.
