The Pope has begun a crackdown on the world’s largest illicit Catholic shrine – by suspending the priest at the centre of claims that the Virgin Mary has appeared more than 40,000 times.
Benedict XVI has authorised ‘severe cautionary and disciplinary measures’ against Father Tomislav Vlasic, the former ‘spiritual director’ to six children who said Our Lady was appearing to them at Medjugorje in Bosnia.
The Franciscan priest has been suspended after he refused to cooperate into claims of scandalous sexual immorality ‘aggravated by mystical motivations’. He has also been accused of ‘the diffusion of dubious doctrine, manipulation of consciences, suspected mysticism and disobedience towards legitimately issued orders’, and is suspected of heresy and schism.

I hope the Bishop of Fresno, John t. Steinbock and many of his priests read this article. It is unbeleivable how Medjugorje is pushed down your throat in many parishes in the Fresno diocese. There is a deacon in the diocese who has his own production company and his Medjugorje pieces are seen all over the diocese television station.
You could say that Fr. Vlasic is in a pickle, eh?
Oh i cant take one more preist scandal i just cannot. I read the entire report on the Irish Brothers sex abuse and it made me cry, then Archbishop Weakland and Fr Cutie.
Does this have to go on?
Medjugorje is in a local area where a horrendous atrocity--the mass murder of local Orthodox inhabitants--was implemented by the Croatian Eustache (sp?) a fascist quasi-military group that was unfortunately largely Catholic. Even Croatian Franciscan Conventuals--who have manned many of the parishes of Croatia for the past 700 years were implicated.
This further detracts from the already impugned credibility of the alleged apparitions at Medjugorje.

Of course it has to go on. The smoke of satan has entered the sanctuary, and he will have his day. Read Akita, for heaven's (literally) sake.
But, we are promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail, so cling to the One, True, Catholic and Apostolic Church and you will find your way, if not easy, at least gentler in the long run.
Our Lady of Akita, please pray for us.
This may sound un-Christian, but I fucking hate Medjugorgians. Time to throw the moneylenders out and excommunicate the lot of 'em, lay, religious, and clergy alike.
