We Really Don't Have To Take This Anymore
Faithful Catholics deserve better
WARNING! Harsh language alert. I'm in a foul mood.
As I sit here and continue to battle a seemingly never ending bout of bronchitis, a couple of lines I read this morning stick with me. First, the quote from Simplex Vir; "...we have the mindset that a bad priest is better than no priest. I believe the opposite is true."
Then the headline that says it all; “Gay-Friendly” Miami Archdiocese Features Goddess-Worshipping Nun at Diocesan University
We don't need to take this bullshit anymore. And this isn't some deep theological query that takes the like of Sts Augustine or Thomas Aquinas to figure out.
I'm going to cut through the crap. And even though I've said this time and time again, I'd like every single one of you reading this to focus on these words... maybe even say them out loud for greater effect ---
There are nuns, priests and bishops RIGHT NOW that have every intention of destroying the Catholic Church.
And you know what? Some of them are in the very same parishes that we attend. How much do you care to wager that within the blast radius of your own home, you could easily find any of the following sporting a Roman Collar;
1. The heresy-spouting (and card carrying Defeatocrat) bomb thrower.
2. The oh-so-sensitive and equally limp wristed 60's reject flower child.
3. The innocuous but ever feckless Father Don't Rock The Boat.
And the bitch of it is this... these guys are the norm, not the exception. Hell, if America's priests were a cash crop, most of the acreage would be put to the disc. I know... we all can't find a TLM within reasonable driving distance. And yeah, there are some priests that celebrate the Novus Ordo with respect and a sense of the sacred, but let's be honest, they're the rarity.
Anyhow, if it means that you have to switch parishes and drive a handful of miles further to a parish where you don't leave Mass every Sunday feeling like you just can't shower enough... then do it! But I'm also realistic enough to know that through a myriad of circumstances, many of us are essentially held hostage by the crazies. There simply is nowhere else to go.
So what is there to do? Simple. WE become the pain in the ass. Don't allow them to pimp-out our Catholic faith any longer. After all, when your fighting spiritual warfare, sometime you have to resort to guerrilla warfare. As Pat Buchanan use to say - ride to the sound of the guns.

For those who can, this is good advice. I agonized over such a move, but I've never one day since been sorry, especially the days when, for various reasons, I went back to visit the old place.
And for anyone reading this in Lake or McHenry Counties, IL, come to mass at St. Peter's in Volo; I'll be doing the readings this Sunday at the 9:30 mass. Or, if you prefer the EM, come for mass at 12:15.
Sorry Cavey, I know that's beyond your driving range, but if you're ever in the neighborhood...
You are my hero!
Amen, brother. I'm all for being a pain in the a*** to the modernist establishment.
"Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops like bishops and your religious like religious." Servant of God Fulton Sheen
"Don't let them pimp out our faith." RIGHT ON!
The ammunition we have is to shoot out the faith with its TRUTH. Let them know we're not the ignorant buffoons who take in all the sewage they throw out! Stand up like true soldiers and defend our rights as Catholics. These liberal nut-jobs have gone far too long in leading and pushing their lambs off the cliff because of their own faithless, liberal, contaminating poison that lies within the very core of their being. And they are very happy that way. STAND UP, SPEAK UP, and FIGHT for the return of the True Faith. Be an example, a non-fearing Soldier of Christ. Remember...to be His Soldier here, is to be His Soldier in Heaven!
I agree 1000 percent and indeed do drive 30 minutes to go to a church where I can be comfortable will follow the teaching of the Church and do so with joy.
I also do not think things will change until those who pay the bills going to church every week revolt in a very meaningful manner. The message needs to be as close to national as possible. What I suggest is that we simply stop giving to any dioceses that has or supports those in dissent. This starts with the bishop who needs to stop dissenting and also stop priest in his area from doing so as well. That includes taking seriously the Catholic Universities in his area. If enough refuse to give any funding to them, they will have to change fast. Each week, send the donation to a dioceses noted for their close following of Church teaching. In the envelope for donations in your parish, put in a simple note on where and why your donation went elsewhere. Of course you do not have to go to mass there, but can drop it off or mail it. Someone else I talked with suggested giving a dime each week to make them have to track it for tax reasons which end up costing more than a dime a week.
I believe until something like this happens, they will continue to take actual practicing Catholics for granted and listening to the ObamaCaths who seldom see inside a church.
One more thought. Giving money to them is worse than giving money in the so called stimulus package. Your money has been used to pay off suits for protected sex offenders for over 40 years many of whom were known deviants by the bishops. I also believe that many of the bishops are deviants as well and homosexual. Giving money without change is like giving drugs to a drug addict. We are enabling them to continue to dissent, to abuse children, and to cover it up.
I will ride with you K-Bar Grease Gun by my side as it were!
All joking aside if we don't fight back (i don't mean with guns) we have no one to blame but ourselves.
I say the next time you attend Mass at one of these Catholic "Communities" after Mass sidle up to Father Flip Flop and say the following verbatim, "Wow, Father, that was a very eye opening and thought provoking Mass. Because I think you are purposefully scandlizing these souls that have been entrusted to you. How do you spell your name because I need to get it right when I send my letter to your Bishop and the Holy See! Meanwhile I will pray for your conversion"
Say it with sincerity, and do pray for that Priest.
What strikes at my heart is the fact that so many of our young have been indoctrinated with a watered down, cafeteria view of Catholicism. It goes beyond the pulpit though . . . into the CCD classrooms and catholic schools as well.
Those of us who strive to be faithful are the 'weirdo freaky fanatics'. . . .
We are blessed to have an awesome new (he's been here less than two years) Bishop who is a true Shepherd of Christ. He has gotten a lot of heat for standing strong for Truth and orthodoxy.
I keep thinking that our adopting "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister as our theme song would be appropriate, given that Sr. Miriam Therese MacGillis, O.P is about as twisted a sister as they come.
Yes, this gang is out to destroy the Catholic Church. & yes we must stand up to them. & no matter how bad it may seem for now, in th end, we are on the right side, God's side.
Unfortunately for them, they have failed to learn from 2000 years of Church history that they are doomed to failure. While they are giving us a little bit of agita now, in the end the True Church will triumph & they may find their new digs a little bit (lot actually) warmer than they like or expected.
Listen to Hail3N1. If priest are doing anything wrong (and that includes following the GIRM for the plain "ordinary form" or allowing error to be sung or taught, then call them on it. Prevat2 is one of my heroes in that regard. He's a convert but heaven help the priest that messes up, because Prevat will waiting for him at the door of the church.
Gramps is right. If you keep supporting parishes that are not loyal to the Magisterium. When out bishop entered into a questionable settlement of the mostly homosexual attacks on pre-teen boys, I quit donating to my parish becauase I knbew a portion of it went to the diocese. Instead, the entirety of my weekly offering was sent to FSSP to train traditional priests.
Dallas,
"...many of our young have been indoctrinated with a watered down, cafeteria view of Catholicism. It goes beyond the pulpit though . . . into the CCD classrooms and catholic schools as well."
You're absolutely right. And why did that happen? Becuase the so-called "leaders," i.e. the pastors, abandoned their role as protector of the flock. (Hey, Padre, you may not have biological children, but why the hell do you think we call you "Father?" Ask any father in your "flock" if he wouldn't die to protect his children from harm. Taking a vow of celibacy doesn't mean you're a eunuch. Look at Archbishop Burke or Bishop Chaput -- they frickin' clank when they walk! Go on a retreat and get a shot of spiritual testosterone, then come back and tell the "litigurical committee" and the CCD instructors that the Holy Spirit has told you there are going to be major changes in your parish.)
I had to move to find a reverent and properly celebrated Ordinary Form. and it's in a parish with the Extraordinary form as well.
I shoulda just took notes, looked things up and wrote letters, except I wasn't sure that the priests in my old parish actually were consecrating the eucharist--that whole matter, form and intent thing, while they espoused transsignification.
Speaking as one of those "Faith Formation" teachers, I'm fighting a tough and seemingly losing battle for the faith of the kids I teach. DRE Stretchpants thinks we have to "meet the children where they are," and wrings her hands because "some" (meaning me) want to "push them too hard." Who knew that teaching the seven deadlies and corporal and spiritual works was pushing poor little Johnny "too hard."
It's really bad when the pastor isn't willing to even show up on Wednesday evening. After four years of trying to teach, I have yet to have a single parent or priest enter my classroom.
I do it because I know if I can reach at least one kid every year, then I have done the best that I can to defend Holy Mother Church. I know the Lord has sent me at least one future holy priest, and who knows about the rest?
I think, also we must be more stubborn than the fruitcakes, folks. If I can stick it out, you can too. You needn't be rude or threaten, but you don't need to offer any support to these useless millstones, either. Do what you can, be an example, lead who you can, and pray very hard.
At least, that's my opinion, such as it is.
