What Happens When Our Bishops Become Toothless Dogs

Yep, a toothless dog makes you feel safe. It can bark... growl... look menacing. But when it comes to protecting hearth and home, that toothless dog pretty much accomplishes diddly-squat. Sounds a lot like the USCCB, huh?
Yeah, yeah... we've all seen the Judas' within our own Church. Pelosi, Giuliani, Biden, Schwarzenegger, etc. And for decades we've been subjected to a bunch of do-nothings (AKA: the USCCB) either smile and look the other way when "Catholics" publicly supported the mass murder of children, or most of them (two thirds) did everything humanly possible to protect the very same homosexual rapists who infected the American clergy.
And for the one-third of the Bishops who didn't protect the Lavender Mafia, guess what they did? You guessed it. Instead of having a backbone and standing up to them, they smiled and looked the other way.

Three area Republican activists urged voters to reject DFL nominee Al Franken for U.S. Senate because of what they called his insensitive and mocking statements about the Catholic religion.
They said his jokes about communion, Mary Magdalene and his dismissive attitude toward the Catholic Church went too far. Franken once referred to its stance on stem cell research as "idiotic" on his radio show.
"There are lots of humorists who use their positions to unite people or to improve things. His attitude isn't one of just disagreeing. It's one of belittling and demeaning," Dr. Phil Araoz said.
Araoz was one of three Catholics at a Rochester media event organized Wednesday by the campaign of GOP Sen. Norm Coleman. The others were Fran Bradley, a former state representative, and Pauline Varley, a GOP activist.
Coleman, a first-term senator, is seeking a second term in the Senate, and polls so far show the two candidates in a statistical dead heat.
The summary highlighted pieces of fictional writing in which an ex-president Franken finds the complete skeleton of Jesus Christ and sells pieces of it at his presidential library. It highlights imaginary conversations Franken has with a foul-mouthed God. It also quotes Franken as referring to religion as a "crutch" in times of adversity. Hmmm... didn't someone else say something about "bitter people clinging to religion..."? And didn't someone else say something about religion being "the opiate of the masses"?
The hammer doesn't fall far from the sickle. But don't hold your breath waiting for the American bishops to warn any of us about that.

Yeah, from my state. Franken's bat-shit craziness aside there aint much difference between the two. 'd vote for (former Senator who filled in for Paul Wellstone) Dean Barkley, he's the furthest right...and that's really saying something.
