Here's some of the atricle by CNA; (Emphasis mine)Pro-abortion Catholic as Obama VP pick would be a mistake, group says
As reports circulate that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama is considering Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, a Catholic who supports abortion, for his vice-presidential pick, the national Catholic advocacy group Fidelis is arguing that the choice of a pro-abortion Catholic as Obama’s running mate would put off Catholic voters who are still considering his candidacy.
"The choice of a pro-abortion Catholic for vice president would deal a major blow to any efforts by the Obama campaign to reach out to Catholic voters," said President of Fidelis Brian Burch, speaking in a press release. “Both the bishops and the laity continue to wrestle with the scandal of prominent Catholic politicians who support abortion, and the choice of a pro-abortion Catholic running mate would amount to scratching at a deep and festering wound in the American Catholic Church.”
Other pro-abortion Catholics have been named as choices for the Democratic ticket, including Sens. Joe Biden and Chris Dodd and Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
Earlier this year Governor Sebelius was byrebuked by Archbishop of Kansas City Joseph Naumann for her support for legalized abortion and with notorious late-term Kansas abortionist George Tiller. The archbishop asked Sebelius not to receive Holy Communion until she renounced her stand. Off hand, I can only think of two members of the USCCB who have had the 'nads to come right out and state that any pro-abortion "Catholic" would be refused Holy Communion.
I'm sure there are others. For the love of God... there's GOT to be others! After all, there are over 300 members of the USCCB.

if this drives Catholics (large C Catholics) away from Obama, GOOD, it also will require small c catholics to show their true colors, don't ya just love fire and brimstone.
Wouldn't it just be sweet, Cavey, if Obama picks a pro-abortion Catholic running mate?
We can only hope.
because we all know there are such things as pro-abortion Catholics.
you're either apart of the team, or you're not, plain and simple
For Obama to chose a pro-abortion (fake) Catholic would only further prove his ignorance to me.
Some of those Bishops handle the situation with private correspondence. When Bp Burke was at LaCrosse, he sent a monitum letter to David Obey (D-Shameful Slug) --but Obey's office 'spread the word' to the press. Burke never commented publicly.
You can bet that if Bp Bruskewitz were faced with that sort of problem that he'd handle it privately first--and only go public if he absolutely had to--as I suspect Bp. Naumann did.
What's a pro-abortion Catholic?
The two are mutually inconsistent. The Pope shoulda excommunicated the lot of 'em when he went to the States....
