If I hear one more local authority (read: mayors, district attorneys, sheriffs, etc) say that they can't/won't do anything about illegal aliens "because they're a federal concern", I'm going to projectile vomit. A lot.
We've all heard those gutless wonder and their lame excuses. But you know, that got me thinking. What would happen if an American president were visiting any given locale, and he was (God forbid) assassinated? As we all know, the murder of an American president isn't a city, county or state crime. It's a federal rap.
With that said, should the local PD, county sheriffs, and state troopers/highway patrolmen be required, or even obliged, to assist in the hunt for the assasin? After all, that would be a "federal concern"... right?

Congress ought to pass a law which would withhold federal money from any municipality which refuses to prosecute illegal aliens. And actually enforce it...
