A Sign From Pope Benedict On The Liturgy?
The new #2 man at the Congregation for Divine Worship friendly towards Tradition and the SSPX
"I agree 200% with you that there really is a problem in the Church with the liturgy and the priesthood, and both go together. We must work on this, and there is no doubt that the Pope has to set free the true Catholic Mass for everyone—I am going now to Rome where I will have my private chapel. I have just taken care to get a Missal of St. Pius V to celebrate Mass as it should be." ~ Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith , the new Secretary for the Congregation for Divine Worship

This is great news! A return to such traditions will be a much needed shot in the arm to improve the health of the Church! Caveman how do you think B-16 is doing so far, are you a fan?
For lack of a better phrase... yeah, I am a fan.
It tool 40 years (oddly enough, a Biblical generation) to screw things up, and things won't be fixed overnight. But they are slowly being corrected.
This should be interesting, as the newly-appointed will also have great "credibility" on the issue of "inculturation."
IOW, Rome gets to control the definition, not the wackos.
Good point dad29. How much crap has invaded the liturgy out of respect for "other cultures," when in reality it is the liturgical equivlant of blackface.
I think it is too early to be a "fan" of the current Pope. What we need is a shock, not a gradual change, back to the old mass even if it leads the Modernists into Schism. Afterall, they follow a practically different religion anyhow. Are they going to give up "altar girls", communion in the hand, clown masses, and other Goddamned Protestant hootenannyisms? Probably not.
I pray that the Holy Father comes out strongly soon in defence of the Faith.

Not for me. As I said before, for lack of a better phrase, I'm a fan, so to speak. Filial devotion... all that jazz.

I think Fr. Scmidberger said it best; "We do not demand the abolition of the conciliar Mass at first. With the liberalization of the Tridentine Mass, the conciliar Mass will disappear of itself..."
