Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Sulas
"Outside The Church, There Is No Salvation"
Yep, we've all had that argument; "do you have to be Catholic to attain Salvation?"
Well, suffice it to say that I'm no Feeneyite. I'm a firm believer in Invincible Ignorance, but I guess that's a different post for a different day. Here's what I'm getting at; I could give a damn for what Father Limpwrist or Sister Mary Liberated say. If someone knowingly, willingly and intelligently refutes the Church that Christ gave us unto death , they simply shall not attain Salvation. Says who? Says the age old teachings of the Catholic Church, period.
Sure, I could point to reference upon reference throughout the centuries that support my position, and without fail, the Huggy-Touchy Mafia (otherwise known as "The Smoke of Satan personified" or "Progressive" Catholics, whichever you prefer) will go into an apoplectic melt-down. But before anyone of those "Progressive" Catholics freak out, I kindly ask you to read the blow bit of information. And then try to figure out where it's from.
"Basing itself upon Sacred Scripture and Tradition, it teaches that the Church, now sojourning on earth as an exile, is necessary for salvation. Christ, present to us in His Body, which is the Church, is the one Mediator and the unique way of salvation. In explicit terms He Himself affirmed the necessity of faith and baptism(124) and thereby affirmed also the necessity of the Church, for through baptism as through a door men enter the Church. Whosoever, therefore, knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by Christ, would refuse to enter or to remain in it, could not be saved."
Give up?
No, it's not from The Council Of Trent.
No, it's not from the First Vatican Council.
It's from the THE SECOND VATICAN COUNCIL.
Specifically from the Dogmatic Constitution On The Church (Lumen Gentium) Chapter II, section 14. http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_const_19641121_lumen-gentium_en.html
Shocking, huh? What were they thinking at Vatican II? Don't they know they're violating the SPIRIT of Vatican II??!! Mwaaahahahaha!!!
