Ioannes Finds A Rather.... "Interesting" Picture

Ioannes over at Commentarius de Prognosticis has uncovered a rather interesting photograph that may answer as to why St. Brendan's in Shallotte, NC is allowing the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh to use Church grounds to hand out official Mexican governmental documents to Mexican Nationals in North Carolina... both legal and illegal.

From his blog;
Mexican Consular General with Bishop Burbidge
Folks,

The web site of the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh announced the distribution of passports and Matricula Consulars at St. Brendan's Catholic Parish in Shallotte, NC on its front web page (the reader will have to scroll down the page a little to see the announcement):

Consulado General de Mexico en Raleigh

A little further down from that is the following photograph of Cónsul General Flores-Vizcarra with "reverendo Michael F. Burbidge, obispo católico de la Diócesis de Raleigh".

Let's stop kidding ourselves. When push come to shove, if a person's a Leftist and Christian, the Left part will win. Leftism is the true faith. This duality is the source of a certain type of division in the Catholic Church in the US.

Whether the Roman Catholic hierarchy in the US cops to it or not, in a lot of dioceses, there exists a stark division. As this posts demonstrates, the worst enablers of this division are members of the clergy.

You have in effect a Hispanic Catholic Church, and then the Catholic Church...for everyone else.

Thanks, Vir, for the post and pointer. I am, however, very, very disturbed at this.

As to Tuleesh's comment, I basically agree with him. Leftism, liberalism, progressivism or whatever one calls it is the true faith of most of our shepherds. Ezekiel 34:1-10 speaks directly to that. However, I would amend his last statement to read:

"You have in effect a Leftist Catholic Church, and then THE Catholic Church...for everyone else."

The problem isn't so much Hispanics per se - at GE-Hitachi I work with a great many good and dilgent and upright Hispanic people, most of whom are Catholic and take their faith seriously (and of course are either born citizens or appropriately naturalized). The problem is the clergy in the Church in America openly doing everything it can to destroy what was once a great Christian Constitutional Republic.

Frankly, I am depressed beyond all imagining to have discovered this photograph of Bishop Burbidge at the web site of the Mexican Consulate in Raleigh, NC. Maybe there is an explanation for this, but can you imagine the outcry if the photograph had been of him and Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer?

This freaking stinks a stench to High Heaven worse than the poops in my kitties' litter box.

IMHO, the faithfull Catholics in these parishes ought to withdraw all financial suport until the parishes are de-politicalized. A letter to the Holy Father wouldn't hurt either.

I absolutely agree. I sent Father Ippolitio an e-mail asking what law abiding Catholics were supposed to do when the Catholic Church has taken the position of aiding and abetting ILLEGALS. I got a very interesting and defensive reply from him. I would be happy to share if asked. CapeFearFire in Wilmington, NC

I agree. There are some interesting divisions forming in the Catholic Church in North Carolina. Saint Mary's in Wilmington, Immaculate Conception in Durham which is hosting a large AMNESTY meeting this Sunday, Saint Julia's in Siler City...for starters.

I'll amend my own statement:
Whether the Roman Catholic hierarchy in the US cops to it or not, in a lot of dioceses, there is a sad splintering. As this posts demonstrates, the worst enablers of this division are members of the clergy depending on their political "field"[as HizEminence Cardinal Mahony would say].

I for one, think we are reading WAY too much into this. It is simply good diplomacy on His Excellency's part to have a relationship with the consulate when so many Catholics are of Hispanic origin. We simply cannot cut off people because we disagree with them on one single issue, nor do we know what conversations have been going on in private. I am opposed to illegal immigration as you all, and believe that it must be stopped. Yet, taking this photo, and extrapolating from it that Bishop Burbidge is somehow supporting illegal immigration is not logical or charitable.
