Well, well, well. Whoda seen this coming?
Here's the article from CatholicCulture.com; (Emphasis mine)North Carolina parish’s music minister faces 30 years for child porn
March 12, 2010
The former music minister of a Catholic parish in western North Carolina faces 30 years in prison after he plead guilty to a charge of producing child pornography. According to court documents, Paul Lawrence Berrell, whose work is available from two major publishers of contemporary Catholic hymnals, “coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of the conduct.”
Father John Schneider, the former pastor of the parish, awaits a court date on obstruction of justice charges. Father Schneider allegedly deleted hundreds of images of child pornography from Berrell’s computer. I know for a fact that the Bishop of the Diocese of Charlotte maintains a hard-core stance towards any of this kind of trash. Even to the point of hanging a priest out to dry if even accused on the flimsiest of evidence, some would say.
But I digress, I've done a bit of research on Paul L. Berrell. His "music" is Novus Ordo self-worship at it's best. On a site that featured his drivel, without fail, all 5 examples of his toe-tappers were heavy on the "I, Me, We, Us" emphasis. Why am I not surprised he was employed atSt. Imeweus parish. Oops, I mean St. Eugene's.
Could that be the same St. Eugene's that links to something called BustedHalo.com? A site described asA Web e-zine that speaks candidly, and occasionally irreverently, about issues facing people in their 20s and 30s that intersect with spirituality. Yep, sure is. And I've posted about BustedHalo.com in the past. It's the same site that advocated women's ordination in the Catholic Church. Interesting. Why would a Catholic parish link to such a thing? We all know the answer.
By their fruits, you shall know them.
But then again, I also know damn good and well that all the bishops know of parishes just like St. Imeweus. The Bishops steadfastly refuse to cleanse with fire. Traditional Orders are turned away with regularity, but freak shows like what takes place at St. Eugene's are accepted with open arms.
So the Bishops get what they deserve. I hope they choke on it.

Why would the priest try to cover for him? Nevermind, I don't want to know.
"By their fruits, you shall know them."
Ahh, the words of Scripture can be so profound! (Although child porn isn't usually a homo thing, but more typically white male perverts.)

Birds of a feather flock together.
The blogger has taken to not posting my posts.
Well, it posted that one, but has failed to post several others. It is the blogger because it does it instantaneously.
Is the problem on my end or with blogger, or the fact that the email address the blogger has is no longer in service?
Or has the local bishop been engaging in cyber warfare?

If only women were allowed to be music ministers, and music ministers were permitted to marry, we wouldn't have this sort of.... oh, never mind.

JLS,
Blogger.com must be acting weird (again). I've been publishing all your comments.
"Birds of a feather…"
That old saying is just way too appropot…
Thanks, Vir. I appreciate your efforts and I believe God does also.
Just moments ago, on one of your other threads, I hit the red "publish" button and got the Blogger "no go"; I immediately retyped the post and hit the button and oilah, it went through.
So, I know you have not rejected these posts because it is an instant thing ... the Blogger simply blocks it. Next time I'll try to copy screen it puts up and post it so you can see the "flag".
I suspect it might be my archaic computer ... It is rapidly being overwhelmed by new technology which requires more than a horse and buggy to carry its ever increasing loads of data.
Also, I would not complain if my post(s) were rejected. I understand property ownership.
Two or three years ago, a priest published an article about the connection between liturgical kookburgery and sexual deviancy. I wish I could remember the name of the priest.
And let's not forget the founder of LifeTeen, who was dismissed from the clerical state about a month ago. The next time somebody rhapsodizes about LifeTeen, I'm liable to pipe up with, "Oh, you mean the organization founded by a couple of chomos?"
