"Not A Matter Of If, But A Matter Of When..."
Sooner than later, it seems
It's 5 PM Eastern Standard Time as I type this. I'm scheduling this to post a little later this evening. As of this moment, the only news organs in the United States of America that have reported this, is Fox News and the NY Post.
Here's the meat and potatoes of the article from The Times (of London);
'Hundreds of al-Qaeda militants planning attacks from Yemen'
Hundreds of al-Qaeda militants are planning terror attacks from Yemen, the country’s Foreign Minister said today.
Abu Bakr al-Qirbi appealed for more help from the international community to help to train and equip counter-terrorist forces. His plea came after an al-Qaeda group based in Yemen claimed responsibility for the failed Christmas Day airliner bomb plot.
“They may actually plan attacks like the one we have just had in Detroit. There are maybe hundreds of them — 200, 300.”

I'm not sure the nation really cares if there is a strong likelihood of terrorist terror.
It seems more likely that the standard couch potato would rather like to watch the disaster happen on TV. Relieves the boredom maybe.
Imagine today's typical American in a foxhole in a hot battle zone ... yep, ipod in both ears, watching TV while scanning for enemy advances, dreaming of partying with Sotero/Obama (hey, anyone notice that the initials of Barry Sotero are B.S., and of Barack Obama are B.O.?).
I found an interesting article in Business Week today that mentioned this. I'm not sure how encouraged I should be, though.
All I can think about when I think of Yemen is how close we were to busting open the 9/11 cell because of this man, who instead left the FBI in frustration, took a job in the Twin Towers and ended up sacrificing his life because no one took him seriously in the first place. (And we have a total FUBAR situation between the CIA and FBI.)
200 or 300?
That's only about 20 magazines of .223, right?
It's also only a case of 12 gauge 3-1/2" magnums, #6 shot at 1-3/4 oz (765 grains) loads with 395 pellets each. Might be a good added touch to coat each pellet with pig blood. That way the 72 virgins awaiting the terrorist would reject him and continue peacefully grazing in the pasture.
Consider this essay by Alan Keyes: It seems right on target; he blasts both Obama and Ron Paul for blaming the US for terrorist attacks plus Keyes lays out the military aspect of war and puts it clearly into the perspective of the GWOT ... best I've read yet.
