Pope Barry the Worst's Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Archpresider Roger "The Dodger" Mahony has authorized yet another abomination (maybe Obamination would be more correct), but before I present that to you, keep in mind Venerable Ralph Milner, one of the many English Martyrs; (Here's just a bare-bones of the original article, and emphasis mine;)
Layman and martyr, being practically illiterate, he supported his wife and eight children by manual labour. he was brought up an Anglican, but, struck by the contrast between the lives of Catholics and Protestants of his acquaintance, he determined to embrace the old religion, and, after the usual course of instruction, was received into the Church.
On the very day of his first Communion, however, he was arrested for changing his religion and committed to Winchester jail. Probably moved with compassion for the aged man, the judge urged Milner to attend even once the Protestant church and thus escape the gallows.
The latter refused, however, "to embrace a counsel so disagreeable to the maxims of the Gospel," and began immediately to prepare for death. Every effort was made to persuade him to change his purpose and renounce the Faith, and, when he was approaching the gallows with Father Dicconson, his children were conducted to him in the hope that he might even then relent. Unshaken in his resolution, Milner gave his children his last blessing, declared that "he could wish them no greater happiness than to die for the like cause," and then met his death with the utmost courage and calm. And remember, execution back then was a long, drawn-out torture session. With all this in mind, take a gander at this;

Dr. Guibord believes that such ecumenical and interreligious events allow Anglicans and Roman Catholics to "discover we have more in common than not. It's an opportunity for us to be together and envision what might be possible." The Rt. Rev. Alexei Smith, ecumenical and interreligious officer for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, described Mary: Grace and Hope in Christ, “an international agreement," and voiced his desire that both Catholic and Episcopal congregations will gather together to use the study guide which accompanies the ARCIC document.

We have forgot that we are in the middle of a war it seems and have accepted the devils peace rather than do the hard work necessary to bring about the peace of Christ.

The ARCIC? What a laughable organization. The RCC having truk with an alleged Christian organization that promotes sexually active persons to "priestly" ministry, gay commitment ceremonies, and women priests. How the Hell have the Episcopalians and the RCs grown closer? Oh yes, the Red Guru's career explains it!
While I disagree with many things Episcopalians do, please do keep in mind that at least they are bothering to venerate Mary, something they normally don't do, EVER, except for singing "Tell Out My Soul" during Advent. Didn't she promise graces to those who remembered her? Maybe this is a start...
Also please keep in mind that many view the Episcopal Church in the USA as basically the Yankee version of the Anglicans across the pond-- the same Anglicans who are now seriously investigating a reunion with Rome.
Again, not excusing some of the ECUSA's more egregious errors, just respectfully reminding my cave-dwelling brethren and sistren that it wouldn't be the first time the Lord has used Mother Mary to work some very saving graces.
Fr. Alexei needs to be yanked out of Mahoneyville by his lawful Ordinary, the Melkite Eparch.
OK, so we get the conservative Anglicans and in trade, the Pope sends off Mahony and 12 other bishops who always wanted to be liberal Anglicans. What a deal and everyone is happy.

How true concerning how many are called TO Jesus THROUGH Mary. But must it be while giving legitimacy to heretics?

VSC-- After reading your comment, I wasn't quite sure what you meant, so I re-read your blog post, then clicked on the link. Having read more of the original article, I can DEFINITELY see your point. This part in particular stood out to me:

Thanks for the nudge to look a little deeper.
Perhaps I didn't make my statement clearly. First, I didn't state the ARCIC bit correctly. I was referring to the ECUSA participation in the ARCIC. My comments were aimed at, but not stated clearly, at the hierarchs of the ECUSA. I am sure that there are many good Christians suffering through the ECUSA experience.
As the ECUSA becomes increasingly more problematical--actually IMHO apostate--I would expect over time that the Christians who are currently worshiping in ECUSA churches will eventually move on to other denominations or to "break away" Anglican Churches in the U.S., if not to Rome or to Orthodoxy.
As an Anglican (not Episcopalian) who would be more than happy to venerate the Blessed Mother with my Catholic friends,I look forward to the new union between traditional Anglicans and the Roman Catholic Church that His Excellency the Bishop of Rome put forth yesterday. However, as a former Episcopalian, I would be happy to tell Abp. Mahony that Fran Griswold (I can't in good faith call him "Bishop")is a raving heretic who was a prime mover in getting the Episcopal Church to jump the shark.
He is also one of the reasons I now have an almost instinctive distrust of ecclesiastical authority which will probably cause me difficulty in the years to come and which is going to be hard to get over.
Long live real ecumenism; death to the ecumenism of shared unbelief!
I've never been a very good Christian. I tend to vacillate between flaming heresy and outright rebellion. And the Episcopal Church sure isn't making it any easier for me. I really need not to get on this rant, but I also really hope that Mother Mary will take this new veneration by Episcopalians, and run with it; run like the wind. Frankly we (they?) could use the intercession of one of Heaven's "heavy hitters."
