Excuse Us While We Pull The Knife From Our Backs
How disappointing Mike Steele has confirmed he just another RepubliCrat

Some of the article from Politico.com via Karen over at Some Have Hats; (Emphasis mine) Steele: Abortion an 'individual choice'

In an interview with GQ, Michael Steele called abortion an "individual choice" and said the question should be left to the states.

Steele describes himself as pro-life and has in the past backed both state bans and a constitutional amendment against abortion. Under fire during his campaign on the question, he sat for an interview with the Washington Times, and said he "favors state regulation on abortion, and supports the Republican party's platform that calls for a constitutional ban on abortion," though he called himself "skeptical" on the question of amending the Constitution.

To my Head Cavedweller,

I am sorry to say but you are wrong on Bobby Jindal. If he is put in the position that Mr. Steele is he will also capitulate. The party is CORRUPT, just as corrupt as the dems. It has to be burned to the ground!

We must have a new third party, resistance to that idea will only perpetuate the screw job we keep getting. I understand the desire to keep trusting these guys but you just can't.

Sorry Pal!

Undoing Roe v Wade would leave it to the states...so in that he's right...

I agree with Simplex though we're going to need a 3rd party to clean this mess up...and a viable one at that.

Simplex may be right, we can't put our trust in either party, just look at the spending spree the so-called fiscal conservative Republicans went on.

The Republican party started over the slavery issue. & if both parties refuse to oppose abortion, then it is time for a new party, or a new country.

SV,
If Jindal (like Steele just did) scres me over, I'll admit to it publicakky, just kile I did with Steele. In the meantime, he's one of the few real hopes for the Republican Party.

In the meantime, he deserves the benifit of the doubt.

BTW, did you see the posting about ESCR I recently posted?

VSC,
Yes Sir I did. I want to place my trust in the Republican Party and if Jindal can win that trust, great. However I have often felt like being in the RP was much like being in a Mexican Standoff and all of a sudden all the guns are pointed at you!

There is no way a third party candidate can win and have any viable opportunity to make a change. they would need to have some strength in the congress and both parties would go after them. We have a two party system and that is all we will ever have. Perot got about 19% and that was a high water mark. It gave us Clinton. The only thing that saved us from the full Clinton liberal impact was he stumbled on gays in the military and his wifes stupid handling of healthcare that gave republicans the congress including the house for the first time in 40 years.

The answer to our problems is not in the parties, but in the USCCB where we have the liberals still hanging on in control. When you have bishops who are so pro democrat that they waffle on issue that will harm the party that they sell their souls to them, you have major problems. the answer is to stop giving to the Church until the liberals step down. In the last election the 56% Obamacaths gave him the election. I would bet 90% of them have not been in a church in a year and so have donated nothing. The conservatives who are in church every week and donate their time, talent, and most important their treasure have been pissed on by the liberal bishops for decades while they live on our dollars. I stopped giving to them a long time ago. I send my weekly donation to those bishops who are out front in their faith and fighting for the Church and for life. I donate to the Priests for life. In every other envelope I put in a picture of a bag with 30 pieces of silver and a note on why it is there. When I see change, I will think about putting money in. What Change? the resignation of the liberal bishops and their replacement by those who actually are Catholic and follow the teaching of the Church. That is the battle, not the parties. When the entire bishops conference stands up in mass and says no more and any so called Catholic democrat nees to resign or face immediate excommunication from the Church you will see the democratic party fold forever. It is evil and has been since it was formed over 200 years ago. It back slavery from the start until 1964 when they lost the last battle. That is 160 years of hatred of the black and seeing them as not quite human and worthy of slavery, torture, terror, and hanging. With 10 years they had a new evil to back and that was abortion. Now for 40 plus years they have fought as strongly for this evil as they did killing blacks. they do not see the baby in the womb or embryo as quite human and so they can torture it and kill it just like the Nazi did the jew who they saw as less than human. 200 plus years of history and the democrats have fought for the right to slavery and killing blacks and for the right to kill any baby in or near the womb. What a proud history for so many bishops to attach themselves to when the republican party was against slavery with the Catholic Church and against abortion with the Catholic Church now.

Don't give a liberal bishop a dime and you will see change.
