And Just What Do You Think Will Happen To Him?
How about a big ol' heapin' helpin' of not a damn thing?
With the requisite WARNING! Harsh language alert!! Yeah, I'm pretty pissed.
Here's some of the article from LifeNews.com; (Emphasis mine)Joe Biden's Bishop: He's Wrong on Catholic Church and Abortion Teaching
by Steven Ertelt
Wilmington, DE (LifeNews.com) -- Joe Biden's own bishop has had to correct the pro-abortion vice-presidential candidate again on his misstating the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church. In an interview last week, Biden claimed Catholics can support abortion and he understated the far-reaching effects of the Roe v. Wade decision.
In the interview with the Delaware News Journal, Biden continued to misrepresent the position of the Catholic Church on abortion in a way that has gotten him in trouble recently. (No, "getting in trouble" implies consequences. Not a damn thing's going to happen to Biden. At least not by any member of the USCCB. But then again... there's always eternal hell. but then THEN again, when was the last time anyone heard of hell being preached about at a Novus Ordo parish?)
"But throughout the church's history, we've argued between whether or not it is wrong in every circumstance and the degree of wrong. Catholics have this notion, it's almost a gradation," Biden claimed. Not so says Rev. W. Francis Malooly, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.
He writes in a new letter to the editor that Biden "presents a seriously erroneous picture of Catholic teaching on abortion." (Ohhhh.... nothing says I'm Gonna Put My Foot Up Your Ass like a letter to the editor!)
"This is simply incorrect," he says of Biden's interpretation. "The teaching of the Church is clear and not open to debate. Abortion is a grave sin because it is the wrongful taking of an innocent human life." (All sin is "grave". Does me mean mortal sin? *sniff, sniff* Anyone else smell the unmistakable stench of The "Spirit" of Vatican II?)
Malooly calls on Biden to change his views on abortion and to conform to the pro-life teachings of the church. He said all "statesmen and politicians" should be courageous and effective in their defense and promotion of the sanctity of human life." (Did you catch that? Biden was "called on". Has anyone found a donor for his testicle transplant, yet?)
"We hope Sen. Biden will carefully listen to the Church’s 2,000 years of testimony on abortion and that he will join in the defense and promotion of the sanctity of life," he concluded. (Dear Bishop Malooly, hope in one hand... shit in the other. See which one gets filled first. How 'bout cutting through the bullshit and just excommunicate this baby-killer?)

I dunno, Cavey, I think you might be being a tad hard on Bishop Malooly. He's only been Bishop of Wilmington for a month or so, and this is already his second public statement on the topic.
I know we long for the bishops to put the smackdown on even just one of these guys, but in this case, I think there's reason to hope that it'll happen eventually.
Paul, my friend, I gotta disagree with you.
Here's why -- Biden's a bully. And like all bullies, just as soon as they start their shit, the best thing that could happen is a good punch in the nose, if not a severe ass-whoopin', depending on the degree of their indescretion.
Ayhow, wimpering and whiny protestations to a bully only bring even harsher bullying.
For the sake of the souls of countless Catholics who are confused by the lack of solid and decisive acts on the part of the bishops, the best thing Bp Malooly can do, is to jump real high and then land REAL HARD right on Biden's neck.

On this, we certainly agree.
Just one ecommunication, just one, high-profile excommunication ought to set the Catholics for Obama straight really fast and save many souls. Even if it just saves one soul, it's worth the grief.
I'm talking this kind of excommunication:

Am I wrong or is it an act of heresy for a Catholic to claim there is confusion on the Church's position regarding abortion.
In his encyclical Evangelium Vitae (62), John Paul II states:
"Given such unanimity in the doctrinal and disciplinary tradition of the Church, Paul VI was able to declare that this tradition is unchanged and unchangeable. Therefore, by the authority which Christ conferred upon Peter and his Successors, in communion with the Bishops-who on various occasions have condemned abortion and who in the aforementioned consultation, albeit dispersed throughout the world, have shown unanimous agreement concerning this doctrine-I declare that direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, always constitutes a grave moral disorder, since it is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. This doctrine is based upon the natural law and upon the written Word of God, is transmitted by the Church's Tradition and taught by the ordinary and universal Magisterium."
It sounds like he's invoking infallibility to me...
Where are bishops like Sts. Patrick, Thomas Becket et al when the Church needs them?

Can you imagine telling St. Jerome to be more "kind" and "don't offend anyone."???? Where's his language when we need it? (here it seems) He called heretics heretics, spawn of the devil, spawn of the devil, son of Satan, son of Satan. St. Faustina called mothers who murder (so UN PC!) their babies, "wicked mothers." Now who's going to be the first to declare our SAINTS and Doctors of the Church to be "not with it" and "antiquated" and "unenlightened." Great blog. I've been pissed of late, too, and this has given me a nice place to vent a bit. Thanks.
