San Francisco archbishop to honor major Planned Parenthood donor
San Francisco, Apr. 10, 2008 (CWNews.com) - At a Catholic Charities event scheduled for April 11, San Francisco's Archbishop George Niederauer will honor a California financier who has backed Planned Parenthood, opposed parental notification on abortion, and supported embryonic stem-cell research, the California Catholic Daily reports.
At an annual banquet, Archbishop Niederauer will present the "Loaves and Fishes" awards to several honorees, including George Marcus, a real-estate investment mogul who will be recognized for "outstanding philanthropic works" that, according to the dinner citation, "epitomize the spirit of the faith traditions of charity and generosity."
In a critical report on the award, the California Catholic Daily notes that Marcus has been a major financial backer of leftists causes, including opposition to the "Proposition 73" campaign, backed by the Catholic bishops of California, which would have required notification to the parents of underage girls before they obtained an abortion. Marcus also backed a referendum to provide taxpayer funding for embryonic stem-cell research, and he has been a significant donor to Planned Parenthood. Faggot art in cathedral museums; Archbishops who fawn all over financiers of baby-butchers; hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars paid out to rape victims who attackers were protected by bishops.
And plenty of Catholics just shrug their shoulders as if nothing is even wrong. To say that the smoke of satan has entered the sanctuary would be an understatement. In more than a few diocese, satan is running the show.

Do you know anything about the new San Fran auxillary bishop just named by the Pope? I think all his education has been in the San Fracisco diocese and he has maintained his assignments all this time there too. So, I'm looking for something that will make me feel a bit hopeful for the suffering Catholics there. I'm not finding anything.
Is that sound I hear the San Andreas Fault warming up so that California will soon fall into the sea?

You left 1 thing off that list, a so-called Catholic governor of California who supports gay rights (among other things antithetical to Catholic teaching). & how many other so-called Catholic politicians to boot? But with Bishops like Mahony & Niederauer is it any wonder California is the cesspool that it is?

In all seriousnss though I absolutely agree satan is running the show (at least in LA anyway)
this situation sums up why i no longer go to mass.
