If Only All Priests Were Like This
From the Diocese of Raleigh, NC
Helmet tip to Edmund C
I just saw a very interesting post at Mission Territory - Papists in Dixieland. Here's some of it;
If you have 20 minutes to spare, check out last Friday’s Diocese of Raleigh Vocations Holy Hour homily, given by Fr. Paul Parkerson of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn, NC. Fr. Parkerson is a throwback (and a fellow deeply Southern, ex-Baptist convert); rarely do you hear one of the words “schism,” “rank heresy,” “apostasy,” “abomination,” and “sins of the flesh” in any given homily, much less all of them. [emphasis mine]
Here’s a link to the video.
I just saw that video. In a word... awesome. Do yourself a HUGE favor and check out this video.
If we had more priests like Father Parkerson, we'd have a priesthood full of ~
Instead of so many of these ~

Hallelujah! He even used those words in the same sentences! When talked about apostate pervert priests and the liturgy being desecrated, I thought he was talking bout the Spirit of V2, instead he was talking about the time around the First Ecumenical Council vs. the Arians and mentioned St. Athanasius.
I still love how St. Nicholas bitch slapped Arius
A great sermon like that could only come from a holy and reverent priest. Thank you, God, that You send us men like that. Yet one wonders how many fail to answer the call?
Father's point that even the Blessed Virgin cannot turn bread and wine into the Body & Blood of her Son and 200 angels cannot absolve sin, but the lowly priest can, is something we should all ponder.
After a Mass several years ago at which I was lecotr, the visiting priest shook my hand at the back of church and thanked me. I responded, "Why are you thanking me? You performed the miracle." As said before in the Cave, another shriveled "fruit" of Vatican 2 is the de-emphasis of the ordained priesthood (which also begs the question, "Why would any boy aspire to be one?"), to the point where even priests start buying to the fallacy of that thinking.
Yes, we should, and we do, genuflect to kiss the ring of a bishop to indicate our submission to the Church's authority and to honor a successor of the Apostles. How much more appropriate that we should kneel to kiss the consecrated thumb and index finger of a priest who daily calls down our Precious Lord to the altar.
Excellent points, FAB.
