Clash Of The Titans
Do you want to see some real American Heroes?

Time to put all inter-service rivalries aside. Tomorrow is the 2006 Army-Navy game.

Besides the fact that it sure is nice to see college football players with majors like Nuclear Engineering and International Studies rather than Parks & Recreation and Rec Center Management, these young men are truly the best and brightest this nation could ever hope of producing.

They easily could have attended just about any school they wanted and taken any 'safe' career path that would have suited them. But not these kids...

And someone who'll be remembered will be 2d Lt. JP Blecksmith, USMC, Annapolis, Class of '03. KIA, Fallujah, Iraq.

Where do we get men such as these? Watch tomorrow's game. You'll find out then.

VSC,

Thanks for posting this story.

On a related note, it seems that your Fighting Irish might just be coming down the bayou to tangle with the Great Fighting Tigers of LSU.

(Of course, we'll have to wait to see this evening whether or not Florida goes to the Championship game, which they deserve to do.)

If that's the case, I wish all of you good luck.

You're going to need it.

VSC,

So it's final...LSU v Notre Dame.

Usually, I pull hard for the Irish, but this time I'll have to take a pass.

LSU is THE most talented team in the nation, and we'll have to show those boys from South Bend why.

Of course, it'll be nice for the Catholic boys to come to the heart of Catholic country, South Louisiana.

Take care.

If that's the case, then why aren't the #1?

But it should be one exciting ballgame nonetheless!

Well, as we know, talent doesn't always translate into perfection. (And, of course, I'm a little biased.)

LSU has dropped a couple of games, including one to Florida, that we really should have won (but don't most teams say that?).

If you have any pull with Weis, could you get him to okay the GREEN Notre Dame jerseys? I love those.

Take care.

VSC,

I don't want to rub it in, or anything, but...

41-14. Man, that's an old-fashioned mauling.

And, to tell you the truth, LSU didn't even look as good as I've seen them in at least 3 other games this year.

Well, there's always next year...
