What Are Your Priests Reading?
That is, if your priests are within the Diocese of Raleigh

The other day I posted a reference to the Diocese of Raleigh's continuing series of highlighting various priests throughout the Diocese. Here's the link itself.

When it came to the question of Favorite author and/or book?, there was a mixed bag of answers. And quite telling as well.

The range went from the sound; Gerard Manley Hopkins, Michael O'Brien, C. S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, George Orwell, etc, to the highly questionable; Father Henri J. M. Nouwen - He preached Universal Salvation; "Every one will be saved" and "Anyone can find his own way to God". In his final book Sabbatical Journey : The Diary of His Final Year there is an ostensible endorsement of "gay" marriage. He was also a avid reader of Matthew Fox, the renegade Dominican.

Thomas Merton - The very same Thomas Merton who advocated melding Zen Buddhism and Islamic Sufiism with Catholicism, as well as being a big proponent of praying to the God within yourself.Interesting. Of those interviewed, roughly 20% openly touted that they consider those who are in direct contradiction to Catholic dogma as their favorite(s).

    It looks like the Diocese "caved" once again to whatever pressure comes its way and changed it's own website because of the likes of people such as you and your followers. When will all this end and we just have a good shepherd like our Lord teaches? - even like the one you and your fellow "dwellers" persecute. Yes - I mean Fr. Flager from Chicago. Maybe even another Bishop Grossman! Whoa! Wouldn't that stop the show!

    Ad = the Latin prefix meaning (approximately) to be placed towards something

    feo = (masculine) Spanish for "ugly"

    Thus, Adfeo, meaning "towards ugly."

    Hmmmmh. I don't have a camera on my PC, Cavey. So how did you find out? LOL

    Horrah for the caveman!!!
    Now if you could only pass by with your club in the Raleigh churches in order to get rid of the liturgical abuses!!!!
    ( can't give you a name on a single Church that does it properly, with absolutely no adlibitum, altar girls, cheesy homelies if not heretical, or worse....)

    Ha! Man I had no idea that this blog had such influence. Did you know that cavey?! You have actually influenced the a decision made by the diocese and the bishop?

    All I have to say to "St. Francis homeschool mom" is that I am sure Caveman appreciates the compliment!

    Keep up the good work Cavey. Lets see how else we can help the diocese stamp out open heresy.
